Any particular reason for going for a single stick of RAM? You will be limited by single channel so if you just need 16GB, ask for 2 8GB sticks so you get dual channel performance... You can loose up to 20% performance in some games because of single channel!

I was trying to limit the total amount when I made the purchase since I'll be paying with cash. I'm a seafarer going from port to port in the US until the year end. And that's the only payment option I can do. Which is a good thing since when I made the cash deposit, I didn't know there was a limit to the amount you can deposit per day. Good thing Donald@HIDevolution helped me and gave me the option to split the amount and made 2 deposit one from Moneygram and the other Walmart2Walmart on the same day. :D And I thank him for that.

Edited: I'm a little bit confuse the 1 x 16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Series Dual Channel DDR4/3000MHz has the word Dual Channel in it. So does it perform similar to 2x8GB? BTW thank you for noticing.

you need 2 sticks of matching pairs to run in Dual Channel. Thus, always buy or upgrade in pairs of matching RAM sticks. you never wanna run in a single channel mode.

Its all clear now after doing some research. :D I'm gonna ask Donald if its still possible to make an update of my order. If not no problem, i'll just buy the other 16GB online and install it. Thank you. :)

    Hello everyone,
I have been playing with the beast for more than a week now and I am loving it. I thought of writing the whole experience of purchasing and using the laptop to help newbies like me but decided to just write a short one here.

I think the pictures online does not do the laptop justice compare to actually seeing it. I love its simplicity. The screen looks great specially for gaming and I don't notice line issue mentioned on the other threads. Performance? I am like HUWOW! These being my first gaming laptop and comparing it to when I used my friends AW17. So far I have played games like Fallout 4, Quantum Break and NBA2k16 all in the max setting and I experience no problem at all. The max temp I got is around 70degC only after playing for 5hrs straight of Quantum Break. The loudness of the fan while gaming does not bother me. I already took the beast at a coffee shop for browsing and other basic application and the beast was quite tamed/quiet. Sadly I could not do more with the beast since I have limited resources on the ship because of our crappy internet connection. All I can do now is bookmark the pages here on NBR and try it once my contract end and go home. :D

All of these experience and joy would be impossible without the help of Donald@HIDevolution. He helped me decide on the specs and other things. I asked if they can have it delivered to me on a specific date at our last port in the US and he assured me they could and they did. He also guided me on how and where to pay with cash once I am in the US. Having said all of that, it is the best customer service I experienced ever! Again thank you and kudos to sir Donald@HIDevolution. God Bless you.

To end, for newbies like me, I highly recommend getting it from a re-seller like HIDevolution and opt for the option they are offering like delidding. Why? because base upon what I have read in the forum getting a new laptop is like a lottery of either getting a good or bad unit. And purchasing from a re-seller would increase your chance of having a good unit. If I am correct, having them install the OS will be better, again for newbies like me, since they will test the system first (do some benchmark) before they send the laptop out.

Congratulations! and yes, options like factory delidding in order to keep the warranty in tact, and Silicon Lottery CPU options for those who have a bit more to spend are very nice.
