Received my P870DM2 from Dream Machines last week, I am really happy so far, Dream Machines has been outstanding, they ordered a single 1080 machine specifically for me, as they normally do not sell them, it took quite some time as they had to order it directly from Clevo, but Craig Martus kept me informed every step of the way, we exchanged well over 120 messages during the wait .
The laptop seems to be working well, a bit loud, and on the warm side, but overall an amazing machine, I have ordered the Rockit88 to delid the CPU and get the temps under control, and I will be using CLU on the IHS side of things, and either GC extreme or Thermal grizzly kryonaut on the heatsink .
Hopefully we'll be seeing Prema bios soon, as I can't wait to see what this beast will be capable of with Prema's magic .
I delved a bit in trying to tweak the machine, sorted out some of the kinks I had with UAC (it was a Nvidia driver issue) I also undervolted CPU by 150mv, everything seems stable so far, I haven't found where to undervolt the CPU cache .
I think I might have a really bad paste job (Thermal grizzly kryonaut, applied by Dream Machines), a warped heatsink or I just got unlucky with the silicon lottery, as the CPU temps spike up to 99°C even with the undervolt .
Hopefully someone with a better experience of taming the temperatures will take me under his/her wing and help me get them down to more reasonable levels, any help would be much appreciated, I'll be getting my Rockit88 in about a week, so not going to be opening her up until then .

By the way I have the 1440p screen some people were complaining about, and I have to say I feel it was really blown out of proportions, the screen is really nice, I can't see the lines, even when I lean in, the games I play look and play amazing, I never thought 120hz would make such a huge difference for me, I'm in love with this screen .

Great selection mate. Did they already have the 120Hz QHD screen in stock or did they order that also on your behalf? Also, can you give the exact model number/name for the panel? Enjoy your beast

Yes pretty sure the AW and Aorus screens are the same screen Clevo is using, and it isn't half as bad as what people made it out to be, you really have to zoom in and have your face an inch from the screen to notice the lines, and if you are using your computer that way something is wrong with you, not the screenjellygood likes this. -

Hello, I want pretty much the exact same laptop. I live in France and literally no european reseller offers this. I have a few questions for you, I hope you can answer me :
1/ How much did it cost you ?
2/ Where did you get it delivered ? How did the delivery go ?
3/ What do you think of your laptop after using it for a few weeks ?Last edited: Dec 20, 2016Benmaui likes this. -
Laptop was delivered to France, I am also French, waiting time was said to be 4-6 weeks, but it was closer to 6-8 based off of my experience, I'm guessing it was because the 1440p screen model just came out and there was limited stock, the laptop cost me 3426 euro with shipping .
The laptop is amazing, a bit hot, and loud but I just received my Rockit88 to delid the CPU, so that should reduce temperatures and noise a fair bit, will be proceeding as soon as I receive my esd mat, so I don't accidentally fry any components .
I have time to tweak and stress test so hopefully I'll be able to reduce temps a bit more, I just need to find someone willing to help me out, if anyone here has the know how, and patience, I would really appreciated any help or tips you could provide me .Last edited: Dec 21, 2016vynzs likes this. -

I'm interested in buying something similar from dream machines so here is some questions if you are able to clarify
Is a vapor champer included in your laptop? Does t have room for a second 1080 GPU with separate cooling ?
Is the 120 Hz nice to have ?
Beast laptop u have there mate enjoy !Benmaui likes this. -
No vapor chamber heatsink unfortunately, but you can order it separately, and yes there is room for a second 1080, but you will need to upgrade the heatsink to the vapor chamber one, the laptop also came with double 240W power brick instead of the 330W one, for SLI 1080 you will need 2x 330W .
The screen is well worth it, it is beautiful, super smooth, 1440p resolution in games is perfect imo, the image feels noticeably sharper than 1080p .TomJGX likes this.
