Let me know when you get it if you need help tweaking it.

Here's what I usually do for fellow EVOC Gaming Team members:

1- Uninstallation of all the Windows Store Garbage Apps
2- Removing all Windows 10 Privacy Invasion stuff like Telemetry, sending your keystrokes to Microsoft, automatically installing suggested apps in the background, allowing Microsoft to conduct experiments on your laptop, disabling automatic driver updates through Windows updates, disabling Windows 10 ads, disabling cortana, etc.
3- Removal of nVIDIA and Intel Telemetry
4- Adjusting a lot of options in PC Settings like disabling Windows Tablet Mode (you have a laptop not a tablet), disabling suggestions appearing in the start menu, disabling automatically connecting to Paid WiFi Hotspots, disabling Game DVR which reduced performance in games, and a lot more.
5- Replacing Cortana with a much better search tool that finds results instantly
6- Restoring the classic Windows 7 Calculator and Windows Photo Viewer
7- Restoring the Classic Windows 7 Start Menu
8- Turning off smart multi-homed DNS name resolution in Windows which may lead to DNS Leakage when using a VPN (must have Windows 10 Pro for disabling it as it can only be disabled via the Group Policy Editor)

 

Even tho I mostly disagree with Donald on many things, I can tell that he is the type of guy that wants to help as much as he can. So I can vouch for his patience and him being rather friendly, he's one of the guys who actually care instead of monneygrabbing.

Does your list of what-to-do apply to Gigabyte Aero 15 as well?

I just pre-ordered a Aero 15x and it seems like people are calling the process "clean install"

And, I think I'm going to do it myself, once I get a new SDD upgrade after the laptop arrives.

Gigabyte Aero 15x comes with a Smart Manager which I think is pretty useful. Would you erase this too?

 

Clean install is just a clean install of Windows minus the bloat that comes from the manufacturer (Gigabyte in this case) but that doesn't mean that any tweaks such as the above are done. that's for us tweakers and enthusiasts here on the forum to do. Everything mentioned in is in the Windows 10 Tweaks thread in the Windows & Software sub-forum BUT.....

Since you're an HIDevolution Gaming Team member now then surely I can do those tweaks on your laptop as well, these tweaks are generic and apply to any brand of laptops. I'm not sure about that Smart Manager but once I login to your laptop via TeamViewer, if you don't like it, I can show you how we can uninstall it AND get rid of all its file and registry remnants.

Once you get your laptop, just tag me by placing an @sign before my username but do it in some other Gigabyte thread as to not hijack the OP's thread.

 

Haha great. I guess you figured out I bought from HIDevolution. Yeah. So, they had clean install option, but I was gonna get a SSD which I am going to use for boot later anyways so didnt bother. I was in search of clean install tutorial and...some stuffs like Smart Manager I menationed seemed kinda nacessary. Maybe I can find some answers over at the Gigabyte threads about that.
