    Hi,

I'm considering getting a bare bone Clevo laptop from rjtech and will put in components myself (SSD, Memory and OS).

Anyone purchased a bare bone laptop from them before? If yes, how was your experience with the product, and in dealing with the company?

    Cheers!

I second this request. It'd be great if I didn't have to pay for overpriced RAM upgrades, or a HDD I don't need. Anybody?

    Hi,

From my perspective, outstanding company. Iam a client since 2012 when i bought a 7970m from them, and already this year some LCD Hinges and LCD back covers to my W230ST. Quick feedback and support. Shipping the goods, very good wrap-out, very tidy and well protected.

This is my opinion based on small accessories and repair parts. I believe that in case of barebones the attention and care to the customer for sure are at least the same level.

For some one importing from RJtech and from USA to Europe, they even have some magic tricks to help you out.

    Regards,

I'd just like to make a shout out to this vendor. I assume R&J is in a somewhat competitive space with Xotic, yet they fielded a question here about the vendor that leads the reader to a fairly positive set of reviews on R&J. I think that speak volumes. Kudos.

I purchased my P750ZM from RJTech last week. Shipping time was very quick, order was placed Monday morning and shipped out Tuesday afternoon. The barebone model is perfect and I had no issues putting it all together.

Unfortunately, I did have an issue with my order - I had ordered the barebone kit with an Intel 7265AC Wifi, but instead it came with the Killer N1525 Wifi. I spend 75% of my day job booted into Linux, so I need the Intel chip for compatibility reasons, even if its less reliable under Windows. I sent RJTech an email and have set up an exchange.

As far as what you save going with getting a barebone model vs. complete model, it worked out for me to be about $150 savings. I think the best use case would be moving from a recent desktop build to this laptop where you could reuse your processor, SSD and OS license. Then you can potentially get the barebone system and some laptop ram for as little as $1650 which is much cheaper than the starting price of a complete system.
