Hi all! Been a long time lurker (thanks for all the reviews/info @Galm and eveyone) and am about to buy a gaming/work laptop now due to having to travel a lot now. My budget is about $1800 and this seems the best bang for the buck. I've owned numerous craptops between school and work but this is the first gaming laptop I'll be purchasing. So please chime in with any advice in general (is extended warranty worth it?) or for this model. I've also seen @Phoenix recommend sending a message to do a pixel / light bleed check as well. I'm planning to install my own SSD's. Thanks!

Great choice, although it seems that evading light bleed is not a realistic option for every screen. I noticed HIDevolution has an option for 100USD to minimize light bleed so you may wanna add that to your build....

Can't remember where I saw that option email [email protected] for more info about this

Wat. I would have probably gotten that if I knew about it.

I should also make a PSA, HID is offering the P650RS units remaining with quite a hefty discount. Anyone looking for a 15" 1070 laptop would be hard pressed to beat a P650RS with a 6820hk starting at like 1540.

@Donald@HIDevolution is there a technical reason there is no option for the 120Hz display on the P650RS models remaining?

Alright, email sent to Donald asking if minimizing the light bleed is a 'hidden' option that we can pay for upon request.

Just got the word from Donald that a quality check and panel with minimal backlight bleed (+$100) is an option to enter in the special requests box at checkout.

Alright, just ordered! Thanks for the backlight tip @Phoenix . I also found your windows 10 tips thread, any other threads I should take a look at to get the most out of this beast?

Yes, because there are only a couple of units left, and neither have the 120Hz screen.
