I ordered an NP9170 from xotic about a week and a half ago, and I got allocated into the defective second batch of 7970M's which will be delayed until June 11th. Is it reasonable for me to ask for maybe free 24 hour shipping to make up for the delay? I already get free standard shipping and I know xotic's not to blame but still...

Do you feel that Xotic should compensate you over something that isn't their fault and they don't have control over? Do you compensate people for things that aren't your fault and you have no control over?

Personally, I think it's unreasonable because, at the time you ordered, you could have found information on here that clearly showed there would be a delay. They shouldn't have to compensate you because you didn't do your due diligence.

It really, really sucks that the 7970m's had issues and are delayed, but we just have to be patient. :)

Well I ordered it on the 18th before they even began shipping or before issues showed up, so I wouldn't have been able to know.

I understand that it's not their fault at all, but maybe it'd be good business to make up for the delay. And is an upgrade to 24 hour shipping a lot of skin off their backs?

We are as bummed out about the delay on the 7970M as everyone else is. As many of you know the failure rate on second batch of 7970M was too high so they were sent back. The reason was out of the control of Sager and Xotic PC. We do appreciate yours and everyone else's patience for it though. All we can do now is wait for the next batch and ask your for understanding and patience too.

Ah, you ordered right before all the drama. Good timing :p

Regardless, neither you nor Xotic are to blame for this debacle, so I'm still not sure why you feel entitled to compensation. If it's not a lot of skin off their backs, it shouldn't be off yours, right? If you want expedited shipping, then pay for it. If they do it for you, they'd have to do it for many, many people, which would definitely cost them a lot money. Otherwise, be patient like the rest of us (some of whom ordered well over a month before you did).

It's not Xotic's fault so they don't owe you anything. It's most likely either AMD's or Clevo's fault. Xotic is just an inbetween company for you and Sager, as Sager has horrendous CS while Xotic's is stellar.

I guess I can just go outside and enjoy nature until then... :p

And I know it's not xotic's fault at all but what exactly happened to the cards? I read something about them overheating and melting and that's it really.
