@aziraphaleUK did Scan tell you that you need to pay for the BIOS upgrade? What a load of poppycock! They should do it for free.

They said would install the bios update if I purchase the CPU from them, a load of bull really. But to be honest at this point I have had it with Scan and am not willing to argue anymore.

When the machine returns Tuesday and if everything is ok this will hopefully be the last contact I'll have with them.

I'm sure if I contact Prema, he'll have a stock bios he'll be willing to let me have access to.

@dm477 How did your refund go ?

I forgot to update the thread yesterday. Well their manager called me (after a polite reminder from me) and told me that engineers are 'assessing' if everything is in A+ grade for a full refund. I will be most unhappy if I am told they are not in Grade A+. But I should let them do their thing, and shouldn't assume anything.

Scan, what a complete bunch of muppets. That kind of behaviour is absolutely disgraceful, they do not deserve to be in business and from now on won't be getting any more of mine.

Update 31/03/17: Scan has just emailed me asking for confirmation for the refund amount. I have said yes, so hopefully it would pop in my account soon. I think it has been an educational experience for me. I'd like to give a shout out to @madeinholt. The dude is a total legend and helped me through out the process. And of course, everyone else here who offered their best advice. Many thanks to everyone.

Glad the nightmare is ending for you. I went through something similar with a local reseller and it was just a horrible experience overall.

Thats great news. Hope your busy shopping for a new machine from one of our overseas builders that know and care how to get a user the best from these machines.

    Update 03/04/17 email from Scan.

Was expecting my machine to be returned tomorrow, well that's not going to happen. The replacement screen appears to have developed an issue over the weekend.

    Not a happy bunny.

Finally, good news ! :) If you're still leaning towards Clevo, I would suggest a P8xx model with Vapor Chamber. Certainly has better room for cooling compared to the P7xx models.

Going to let them replace the screen again and test. But this is going to be the last time if there are any more issues/delays its going to be refund time.

Be polite but firm. And make sure that everyone is on the same page with regards to the problem. I think they should offer you gpu upgrade. That is the least they can do after all these delays.

So far I have been polite, barr the sort talk I had with the manager the first time the machine went back for the over heating and even then I just let him know I was miffed but not rude with it.

I'll give Scan another chance to sort it once and for all. Odd you say about the gpu upgrade I was just thinking that myself lol or at very least a complete system replacement with upgrades, can't really see Scan willing wanting to upgrade the gpus to 1080's (that would cost them nearly £900) but could be worth a shot.

I think it is something you should consider. Maybe a single 1080, as that can drive anything at 4K w/GSync. Especially in P870 chassis, that is an ideal combination. I am looking at it myself.

They'd lose more money by having it refunded rather than upgraded ;)
