I wanted to buy the razer blade 15.6 (1080 144 1070 500gb) but, I was told it gets to hot on the bottom. I want a laptop I could use on my lap and not burn me, I was thinking on getting a laptop cooler that would allow me to use it on the bed and lap. Does anyone have a idea of a good laptop cooler i could use on a razer blade 15.6 or a better thin and light that i can use on my lap.

I was thinking that maybe my friend was being dramatic and that could only happen on extreme situations, which would mean i can play games that dont demand much, like terraria or fortnite.

    Thank you.

he is right, the razer has quite some bad design when it comes to thermals. Better go for Aero 15x or GS 65.

There is pretty much NO gaming notebook you're going to be able to use on your lap to play games. You can probably do light productivity work or watch video without it getting uncomforatable, but I'm not aware of any gaming notebooks you'll be able to run full tilt comfortably on your lap.

I would say get one of these but they seem to have gone belly up, sucks I would have bought a spare one had i know that would happen: https://www.amazon.com/Lap-King-Des...0031047H8/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
that thing is so comfy and has a nice notched surface to help airflow. I'm sure you can find something similar...

I have the older Razer blade 14 with the 1060 gpu. And I've used that device alot on the go or in many locations that don't have a desk. Even for gaming. Now hfm is a bit harsh with the pretty much no gaming laptop can be used on your lap while gaming. I have done it a few times and placed it directly on my BARE CHEST when playing with a controller and I have no burn marks. It does get warm. But, not enough it will burn you.

When I was at home sitting on my couch I just used a piece of wood that was long enough to fit the laptop and a mouse with a laptop stand. So long as you elevate the laptop so the fans on the bottom of the machine can breath you will get much better cooling than having it sit flat. HTWingNut swears buy using just bottle caps at the two top corners of his laptops and honestly I've adopted his mentality as elevation is more than you'll ever need unless you live somewhere it's really hot.

While laptop coolers do help, it seems very minimal in the laptops I've used. Plus most are bulky and cumbersome.

You also can make laptop table that would be great for use on the couch and bed use with some pvc pipe and a wooden board. So long as you aren't afraid of power tools.

What game and gaming laptop was this? Any gaming notebook if you try to put it directly on your lap to actually play a game you are either going to:
    1. block the intakes from properly pulling air in due to your clothing/skin
    2. sweat...
    3. #2 at best... start to getting close to burning your skin after a short period of time
That also sounds like a super weird position to be gaming in.. is your neck double jointed? :)

All my last several laptops I’ve done this. It’s pretty natural for me. I do have a large chest so that might be reason I can do this comfortably as it raises it up high enough that all I need to do is put two pillows behind my head. Kinda like watching TV honestly. My last laptop was the Razer blade 14. And that sucker got hot. I played Witcher 3 and Shadow of War on it a lot. So open world games that hit the GPU and CPU pretty hard. I just picked up the GS65 with the 1070 max q and played some Witcher 3 on it to see how hot it would get. On my bare chest. :D

Now the 8750H in this sucker gets what I would consider hot. It was hovering around 90 F. And I got a bit sweaty from having a half hour gaming session.

I honestly must have thick skin, because even that wasn’t terrible to me. Pushing it for sure. But, not hot enough to burn me.

    That's just silly. I owned a 14 for three years.. no way I'd use it without a lap desk. I'm 6'2” 195
