I heard the battery life is actually good (6 hours consistently on light use). Is this accurate? It's also $700 cheaper compared to the new one which apparently has less battery life

I get about 5 hours of battery life on my 2014. I feel like if you're getting a school laptop and spending $1500 there are better options unless you want to game. If you want a gaming laptop that is portable and has good battery life, I wouldn't buy the older model. MS store will give you 10% off and $100 off for promotions on the 2014 Razer Blade right now, which makes it about $500 more rather than $700. That's just my opinion however.
