Does Razer have a good reputation regarding warranty and services? Considering a potential Razer
OLED laptop purchase and wondering about RazerCare. I guess Dell onsite repair is what I'm comparing it to. Though I can't commend on the individual technicians themselves, the system Dell has for warranty and repairs have always served me well. So just wondering about the general consensus about Razer service?

It's still new I think not even 4 months starting from March, so there's probably no review yet and Dell on-site repair should be better since it exists way longer. There are horror story with Razer support but in my experience with Germany support they're great though not 24 hours support like Razer Care in US. And recently according laptopmag survey they're suprisingly not bad at all, even a bit above Dell.

It really seems to be all over the place from my experience. They seem to have a once you're out of the return period they kinda gotcha by the nutz. I had a blade 14 that I owned for close to three years and no problems. They one I sold it to has not complained about it so it still going strong. But recently I was put through the ringer with a return on the blade stealth late last year. I had to get some help to get the ball rolling.

While I'm sure my case was rare I feel once you get into a certain price range that kind of thing should never happen. And when they added that extra warranty I was skeptical if you got better communication with technicians if you had an issue and not just a random outsourced rep? Part of me honestly wants to try it out and not tell them who I am and get the ball rolling so everyone had an idea of what to expect.

    Hmm. . .

Well. . .that would be the best way to find out. It's so new there probably isn't much feedback on it just yet.

Which model do you have? And WHEN?

I know someone who had the issue on 1070 one, apparently he didn’t monitor the temperature. However it’s just passed a year maybe we’ll notice if there’s more battery bulging issues. Mine, first batch over a year is still fine btw, and I put mostly plugged at home usage, pretty similar with my other laptops, two systems are from Razer with each around 2 years and 5 years usage, the last one due battery wear I just bought the battery pack for adding more juice.

You can probably expect its as good or as awful as razer support seems to be in general. Which i've heard has both improved amazingly in the last year and is "worse than ever"

What i have consistently heard is that it is seemingly universally better to get the retailer's extended warranty. What ever they sell, seems to usually be better, amazon, ebay, microcenter, best buy ... what ever it is, it seems to have a better track record than razer itself does.

I'd say dell's got some of the best warranty support, not because they are good because they are not, but it is very easy to convince them to provide you upgrades and different systems. I've heard of razer doing this before as well, so it's possible it's the same. I am somewhat of an industry professional though so when they speak ******** i can call them on it instantly, and this usually results in me receiving better than average results, based on what i've read over the years.

TL;DR: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Nobody is probably any better than anybody else and your mileage may vary.
