Hi everyone, Firstly I wanted to say that I am completely aware that many of you are annoyed with the number of topics that are started with the like "how good is the screen quality really?" and for the purpose of this thread I would like to stay away from that discussion.

My question is, when do you think Razer could possibly offer screen options for their 14" model?

From what I can tell it seems like there is a large % of people who would love to buy the rb14 but cannot do so solely because of the screen being reportedly subpar. The most annoying thing for myself is that there simply are no alternatives to this system so its either take a less powerful (and less beautiful) alternative or settle on one of the key components of any laptop.

So considering that every single review for this awesome machine has address that the screen is "not as good as (insert reviewer name here) had hoped" I am wondering how long it could possibly be before Razer takes serious consideration to the communities consensus and offers up options for its consumers. Would we have to wait for 2014 where an 8 series gpu refresh will almost definitely be happening for the R2?

Also, for those of you who already have a blade 14 how long would the delay have to be for you all to not feel any sort of buyers remorse, if at all?

Just my 2 cents as one of many people who would love to own a razer system.

First they have to acknowledge that the screen could be better. Their CEO has posted on FB why they picked the TN screen over the IPS options available. He mentioned resolution, ghosting/ response speed, price and power consumption.

I see what you mean anytimer and agree that this is the stance that Razer should be taking. However what I am saying is that they MUST have a decent idea that there are many people who are making decisions on a daily basis to avoid buying their Razer 14 system solely because of the screen. Because of this wouldn't Razer be more inclined to add the option for a higher res / different type of display sooner than their R2 version, which will likely come once 8 series GPUs get released in 2014?

    Just seeing what people think.

I think that you can expect an update sometime next year. I'm currently debating whether I purchase an extended warranty for my blade 14' or just wait to upgrade to the new version next year and forgo the warranty on the current Blade.

I see this call for a better screen similar to the call for a left-handed Naga from Razer, in a way.

I'm sure Razer already sees the potential market for a better screen on the RB 14, but might be holding back since it is not large enough yet to actually make it a financially viable option to get another supplier (assuming their current one doesn't offer the superior screens), start another production line, coordinate for this newer product with logistics and distribution, etc.

In the same way that the left-handed Naga is being sold, apparently, at a loss for every unit they make, I think at this point the RB 14 with a better screen might be the same. Just a guess.

But in terms of timeline, I personally think it'll be available only by, at least, the next revision.
