So I have a Eurocom M5pro (Clevo P650sg) and It's awesome but I really want something smaller and lighter, that is still capable. I've played with the Razer Blade Pro for a couple weeks and absolutely loved the build quality and just the whole package, but I was really bummed about the GTX 860m inside and that it wouldn't fit in my backpack.
I'm toying with the idea of selling or trading my eurocom for a Razer Blade 14". Anyone who has had one, if they can chime in and let me know what they felt about it and if i should go ahead and sell my eurocom to get one or not?

    I really appreciate any input.
(Also Razer has a FHD Razer Blade in their refurbished store, are their refurbs any good?)

I'm not sure about the refurb program, but there is a warranty, and I've tried other refurb items with no issues. As far as the RB, I have the 2015 QHD version, and to me this laptop is awesome. I play mostly Fallout 4 and the division on high with no issues. The heat is about the only thing that bothered me, but using throttlestop has made it more tolerable. As for FHD, that's mostly up to u. The QHD does look awesome, but it's not a necessity.

From a pure performance perspective, it's pretty much a straight side-grade to go to a Razer Blade 14. So any switch-over you make will be for materials, design, and form factor.

If you're interested in that aspect, then the Razer Blade 14" is absolutely worth buying. It simply has the best portability, build, and design I've ever seen on a gaming laptop. There's also the HUGE benefit that the laptop PSU is very small & slim (an often overlooked part of a gaming laptop's "portability"), which reduces the overall carry weight of the laptop even more. The Razer Blade is a tremendous upgrade from the generic blocky plastic rectangle design often seen in Taiwanese ODM & OEM gaming laptops.

And some notes on the FHD model:

    1) FHD display is only on the 2015 model (and not the 2016 model) of the Razer Blade. No major change by going from 2015 --> 2016 model, except a switch to the Intel Skylake platform (DDR4, M.2 NVMe support, Thunderbolt / USB Type-C). 2016 model also has Chroma RGB keyboard lighting (2015 model has green LED). Otherwise, performance is nearly identical between the 2015 / 2016 models.

    2) The FHD panel is non-touch matte, whereas the 1800p screens on the 2015 / 2016 models are glossy touchscreen.

The hard part is finding actual inventory on a refurbished 2015 FHD model. If you can actually find inventory, and prefer a 1080p resolution on a non-touch matte panel, then I say go for it. A price of ~$1600 USD is absolutely the best deal you'll find on a Razer Blade 14.

    Thanks for the replies!
Like I said, I had the Razer Blade pro and really was impressed with the build quality and I forgot about how small and awesome the adapter was. Well then I guess my mind is made up. The portability and little bit more battery life is definitely worth it to me.

Anyone wanna buy my Eurocom?? ;)

Thanks again for the input guys!

Lol you'll have to wait til 100 post to sell :( but I'm sure there's people interested.

And yea, refurbish product are not bad. They have already fixed everything before reselling it and it comes with warranty as well. So it should be ok.

Have you considered what kind of GPU your refurbished Razer Blade will have? Because from my personal experience, one of my room mates had it and in LAN parties he couldn't last more than 4 hrs just because the laptop's surface would become so hot, that it would be a little bit painful to touch the WASD area constantly, as the heating solution for that machine is not the best one... Especially if you are playing more demanding games n higher settings, where such a thin laptop definitely has a poor cooling system.

I am just surprised that Razer still didn't increase the vent ports or re-located them so that the user wouldn't feel that heat, coming out of the chasis. Those small intake ports on the bottom of the laptop are just insanely small, if you are packing at least a GTX 960...

If I was going to LAN parties and wasn't using an external keyboard if probably get a different laptop. I use a lap desk and a controller 95% of the time so I actually put the weight at the top of my list. And it's a dream to use when just farting around, the trackpad is stellar. 2nd only to apple.

I'm still really torn. I might just build a desktop and get a razer blade stealth. That was I get the best of both worlds.

Don't get the stealth. Get an XPS 13 or Spectre 13 if you want an ultrabook, or wait until computex.

I have played with the Spectre 13 and i'm not super fond of it. The XPS is nice though.
What is coming up at Computex? Any rumors?
