When I skype, people they say they hear a static noise when I use a mic through the headphone/mic jack but when I use another mic(USB, or the built-in mic) it's fine. Is this a grounding issue..? And would I have to send it back to Razer?

Is it a 'watery' type of static? Or something like a flowing kind of sound? I had the same problem, USB mic didn't have it while analog did, it seemed to be always present until I...

    1. Went to recording devices via sound options.
    2. Right clicked the microphone that was being used.
    3. Enhancement tab
    4. Make sure 'DC Offset Cancellation' and the rest below it are ticked. 'Immediate Mode' ticked as well, 'Disable all sound effects' NOT ticked.

That seemed to have fixed it for me. +20 dB on my mic boost as well (30 seemed to have caused a bit of feedback too).

    Let us know!

Hmm, have you tried actually listening to the static via listening to your own mic? :) Is it just Skype that seems to be hearing these sounds?

The static, sadly, is not just from Skype.

EDIT : Do you think one of these would help? http://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-virtu...377195917&sr=8-1&keywords=external+sound+card

Since it has it's own sound card?

EDIT 2 : Bleh now I'm getting a crackling/popping sound through headset and speakers.

EDIT 3 : Sorry for all the edits.. Seems like both problems have gone away for now but does anyone know what causes this? For the crackling/popping sound I read somewhere that it might be latency issues.

    Heya,

What model of onboard audio card do you have? Realtek?

I don't think it should be necessary at all to get another sound card, these things aren't supposed to happen after all.

It's good to know they went away though. It's possible that a bad connection causes these things on Skype, but seeing as how it wasn't just Skype that head them.. Hmm.

Did you, by any chance, install Razer Surround or some sort of audio software?

I'd try to reinstall that. When I installed mine, I knew it had some sort of interruption during the installation and fair enough, some static noise came out of my headsets. Reinstalling fixed them. Could be worth a shot :)
