I asked what the HDMI/GPU supports as a max output resolution and whether the SSD is replaceable and got this response:

"The SSD is M.2 Type, if any damage is done in the process of upgrading the warranty is void. We can only cover the as-shipped configuration if a warranty claim is made.

No second slot is available to our knowledge.

    HDMI supports 1080p.

    Have a great day, "

Sooo...I guess buy for the storage you need now if you preorder. I put in for a 128GB SSD one, I hope they will let me upgrade before it ships.

Eh. I think I'll be fine with 128. I can always move things around if I have to and have my NAS as backup. If I can later upgrade the 128 to a 480/512 that's fine too. I guess I'd only be concerned if this was going to be my one and only computer.

I could take that "no second slot is available to our knowledge" to mean that they really don't know or aren't sure, or that they were referring to M2 and the seconds lot is actually still mSATA. It's too hard to tell. I really think it will come with 2 slots, whether 2 x M2 or 1 of each M2/mSATA. If not, I will be replacing my 128GB SSD immediately! lol

Since Razer's warranty doesn't support user modification, and the specs aren't listed on the site we're going to have to wait until someone has one officially and can let us know what the insides have in store for us.

They're not going to say "Yeah sure tear it open with a Torx and have at it", then someone might try to blame Razer for their ineptitude.

Razer doesn't want the liability of n00bs breaking their Blade whilst attempting an upgrade, then attempting a warranty claim only to be told it is damage not covered. It's one of those things were if you have to ask, you shouldn't be trying to do it in the first place, or at least wait for a guide/pics.

That reply to me said sure, you can upgrade at your own risk, but if you break something in the process, warranty is void. Same policy MSI seems to have as well, which is fair IMHO.

If I do order one, I'll be upgrading myself for sure... I'm just waiting to hear if there is a second slot.

I only asked if there was a slot available (as well as what type) and if not if they offered upgrades to existing orders in queue. I agree it should not be taken under if you have no idea what you're doing. I don't plan on being the first, I'll let someone else have at it since they don't support it with a removable panel, etc.

Well thanks for reporting to us what they told you. I am sure I won't be the first to get one but I will be happy to report my findings. I will likely run it a day first to make sure I don't have any major out of box issues/failures.

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off rude, sorry if I offended.

Razer can't make changes to currently placed orders, but can cancel the order so a correct one can be made, though you will loose your place in the pre-order "Line"

    So wait.... It's not a HDMI 1.4? As it doesn't support 4k

I just asked support as well and linked this forum, they said that may have been in error, based off of the previous specs, and are asking the engineers for an update on the resolution supported.

It has 1.4a, 1.4b is required to support 4K.

The newest Intel graphics driver comes with a customer resolution/refresh rate option. Someone can try that for higher than 1080p/60Hz I guess?

    HDMI :: Manufacturer :: HDMI 1.4 :: 4K Support

Looks like HDMI 1.4a DOES support 4K, but only at 30fps max.
HDMI 1.4b doesn't change that - only HDMI 2.0 will support higher fps on HDMI and I don't think any of these systems support HDMI 2.0 yet.

That would be awesome IF it does support 4k in the drivers. Honestly if was to play games at 4k I wouldn't expect 60fps anyway, so 30 would be acceptable considering the resolution.

I'd settle for 2560x1600(or 1440) at 60hz. I have read that 1.4a supports that bandwidth but the monitor, the graphics card, and the cable need to as well. For example, I have a U213HM but it only supports 1.3 hdmi.
