    The laptop's resolution isn't quite 4k, but does that mean that it won't benefit from 4k video? I don't think there are 1800p blu rays.

    There aren't 4k bluray disks either, all current 4k media is simply upscaled 1080p, games can be rendered at native so they benefit fine, other wise, 1080p looks great on the panel and so does 4k off YouTube and the like.

    Your laptop can only display as many pixels as the number of pixels contained in the screen used. Any image that has a higher resolution than your laptop will simply be downscaled to your laptop's resolution, defeating the purpose of getting the higher-res image in the first place.
