I am going on a long flight and have always used portable power packs for my laptops. The packs come with all sorts of connectors for different laptop types.....however as I do not know what the connector for the razer edge is called, I cannot find a power pack connector for it..I already have the spare battery which sits in the game controler but this wont be enough for a long haul flight....

    Does anyone know of either:

    a) the name of the connector for the Razer Edge Pro so i can search for a power pack which has its connector included

    or

    b) know a power pack which has actual sockets so i can plug the power cord for the Edge Pro straight in

    thanks in advance

The plane doesn't have an AC outlet or empower adapter for you to borrow?

I actually just traveled and was shocked to find that each plane seat had an AC outlet now. That said the last flight I took had ancient seats with nothing :(.

I was flying united economy. Took 4 planes, and 3 of them had A/C outlets. I think its just a gamble at this point unless you go with an airline that guarantees them. You may be able to call ahead of time and ask?

I'm pretty sure the connector on the Edge is proprietary so you won't be sticking any universal connector into it. There's a small battery pack on Amazon that works with the Surface Pro as well as MacBooks. You may be able to hack your own cord if you buy another Edge charger but I have absolutely no experience with that.

Amazon.com: Intocircuit® Power Castle PC26000 26000mAh External Battery Pack/High Capacity Power Bank charger for Laptops, Notebooks, Netbooks, Tablets and Smart Phones. Compatible with HP, Dell, Toshiba, Acer, Samsung, Sony, Gateway Laptops; Google

Like others have mentioned, you might be surprised to see that the plane has AC outlets on it. It's been a few years since I've flew but the only times I've seen a power outlet on a plane was in first class. That's probably changed now but you can call and ask.

i am pretty sure they wont have one with the razer edge connector...seems to me Razer decided to make even the connector unique so that you cant find any adapters! if i knew what the connector type was was called then I could find something online

Airplane power is universal. There will be either an empower outlet which can be converted to AC or a standard AC outlet. The Edge's AC cable is not proprietary on the end that connects to an AC outlet. It's not even all that proprietary on the small brick on the AC side (I have had other power adapters that had the three prong input as well).
