I'm probs going to buy the new razer blade, now it's a case of working out the best way for me to do it. I'm UK based and could go down the bundlebox route to import the laptop, however I'm also likely to be over in New York much later in the year. Obviously can't say for certain, but I wanted to know what happened with the previous gen laptop? Did this become readily available in Best Buy - looking at razer's web site they seem to suggest that Best Buy stocks their laptops, yet when I look at Best Buy's website they don't? Can anyone from the US advise what the score is, is the previous gen hardware still readily available? If so, I might chance my luck and wait until October to pick up the 2014 model when I'm over. Or help me rule it out and I'll just press the import button now :)

Hope that makes sense. P.S.Thanks to all those who have been posting feedback about the new laptop, appreciated.

    Short answer: Nope

Long answer: Best Buy doesn't have them yet (also take note that not all Best Buys carry them) and I wouldn't bet on them having it either for a while. They're still trying to fulfill their website's pre-orders and other places like Amazon. It might be like the PS4 where you won't see them in-stock for a while in brick and mortar stores.

    I don't know about U.K. since I don't know anything about it. =]

Thanks - I do realise that the new razer model won't be available on stores for a while - I'm over in October so I was trying to understand what happened with last year's model: did it ever hit BestBuy and become readily available, or was it in scarce supply and online order only? If the latter, I'll import one now. But if it was readily available (esp in New York), I'll probs wait until October and try to pick one up from a BestBuy...

Sorry, I misread your post and was thinking you were talking about the new model. As for the older model, I have not seen them in the Best Buy's that I've been to for quite a while now. Last time I've seen a Razer laptop in a store was early last year and that was a floor demo of the Razer Blade Pro collecting dust. I did a quick search and I found an old link for best buy and it looks like they don't carry the laptops from them anymore - at least for now.( Razer Blade 14" Laptop 8GB Memory 256GB Solid State Drive RZ09-0102 - Best Buy)

If you come to NYC - there is also a brand new MicroCenter shop in Brooklyn (Sunset Park/Industry City - 15 mins from Manhattan). They have all the latest systems on display all the time, and I was just recently told by one of their staff member that the new Razer Blade would also be there some time this summer ....

Thanks guys - perfect, just what I was trying to know. Sorry I wasn't very clear in my original post. Just trying to work out if the new ones are likely to be available based on what happened last time. No guarantee, but I might just hang fire until October, sounds like that shop in Brooklyn ought to be able to sort me out with a decent laptop even if they don't have the Razer in stock at the time I visit... anyhow waiting until October will probably be quicker than me importing one now from razer directly based on the feedback from the shipping thread ;) Digital1337 tell the shop you want commission :)

Ah, MicroCenter, I love just going there and looking around. Great store. That would be nice if the guy on the sales floor is correct.

@sparkle999 - MicroCenter has a website ( Micro Center - Computers, Electronics, Computer Parts, Networking, Gaming, Software, and more!) you can order to pick-up in the store as well. So if you come here, I suggest you check their website and the specific store before doing a wild goose chase. =]

That's fantastic! I already ordered but at least others will benefit. I was searching for a place to see the 2013's panel first hand somewhere in the city but struck out.

That's great, thanks! And you're right - nothing worse than making the trip to find it's not in stock.

Oh no... you do realise this means I won't be able to resist visiting their website *every* day between now and October to see if they've got them in stock! Very much looking forwards to visiting NY, never been - roll on October. All the best.

    @ xerojin - yup , love'em too ! )) ...

    @ sparkle - I should, right ))
Speaking of the shop - they have every major brand there ... including MSIs and the entire Alienware line-up. I'm pretty sure you will be able to snatch one off. One more thing, remember - we have a little thing here in the US called "price match". Find the best price available online (through any major retailer such as Amazon etc) print the pricing page, bring it to a shop of your interest and they will be able to price-match it for you. Perhaps will save you some $

Maybe I'm in the minority but I hope my local Microcenter doesn't get the new Razer Blade. I'm afraid that if I go in a see it, I might just have to buy one lol.
