I'm like 90% ready to say my operating system is mac: They really asked me that?

    Hi Bryan,

Greetings from Razer Software Support and thank you for taking your time to write to us.

We understand that you have challenges with the Fn and the function keys. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

We would like to ask additional information to help us with the case.

    * The product number of the Razer device. It's located at the back of the device and it starts with RZ.

    * The operating system of the computer. Is it Windows 7, 8, 10 or MAC?

If you're using a Razer laptop or if a Razer keyboard is connected to the laptop, this is how it's programmed.

We look forward for your response.

Have a great day ahead and thank you for supporting Razer!

    All the best,

    Cathleen

There are a number of people that Hackintosh... so perhaps they get enough that they've learned to ask?

a lot of people use hackintosh on their notebooks. I had a moment where I sendt a system info file to the NVIDIA support only for them to tell me my notebook is a desktop and had to explain to them that it's not.

That’s a new one. I’ve never had them ask me that one before. And I’d say go for it and tell them it has Mac OS on it just for the reaction.

Linus Torvalds uses Razer Blade. So, Razer works with Linux distros as well as with Windows and Mac OS.

He's also reportedly quite rich, so tossing newer laptops away isn't an impossible feat for him. That being said, the XPS13 has direct linux support and has linux SKUs, which probably helped. I think Dell is probably the best in terms of large OEM Linux support, moreso than Lenovo nowadays. I even have a Dell-provided collection of Linux drivers for my E5450, a 3.5 year old laptop.

Yeah quite correct. Even Lenovo and System76 does have good support. Long back, only Dell and few machines did preinstall Linux or Ubuntu instead of Windows OS.
