    Hi all,

In case someone needs this ...
I purchased my Razer Blade 14' (2014) directly from MicrosoftStore.com , and as many of you may already know - the systems that are purchased from Microsoft do not come pre-configured with the Razer's restoration/recovery partition ( someone already had a topic and a very nice write-up on that matter here on this forum ). As mentioned in that very same write-up, you would still be able to recover your system using the Windows 8 built-in recovery tool-set, but in case you need to obtain Razer's actual recovery image you may want to do the following:

    1. Email to : [email protected]
    2. Include your system's Serial Number
    3. Model Number
    4. Copy of your invoice / order confirmation ( you can use Snipping or SnagIt tool to produce an image from your email confirmation)
    5. Briefly explain the reason why you need to get the recovery stick ( missing OEM recovery image)
    6. Thank them :))

After I received their response the drive was mailed to me within a week.
Here are the pics of it, and hope someone will find it helpful in case they need to obtain one as well.

    edit:

p.s. Its made out of aluminum and matches the system quite a bit ))

This awesome. Thanks for sharing. Did they charge you for the USB?

Also has anyone here upgraded their Windows (especially with a clean install)? I want to use Bitlocker but I don't really want to mess with my GPU drivers since Nvidia is finicky with its gfx switching software.

How big is the drive image? Will it create the Razer recovery partition? Would you mind making it available for us to download?

Sure,it's almost 7 gigs. (content: mainly boot uEFI sequencers - I guess its obvious, considering that this is a boot drive).
I haven't tested it yet, so not sure if it would create an actual partition, but will have it tested and report back tonight.
Will make an UPLD this weekend ...

Thanks for the tip. I want to get a 512GB drive for my blade, but didn't want to lose the recovery partition. I sent them an email last night, they responded with a form to fill out, and my recovery key will ship shortly.

If anyone wouldn't mind sharing this key, I would appreciate it. I particularly need the Synaptics driver as there is not one on Razers site and the one from Synaptics refuses to install.

Install Synapse from Razer to get the Synaptics touchpad driver.

Yea. Kinda annoying since I don't keep Synapse open, so don't know if there're updates unless someone posts about them. Synapse automatically enables "enhance pointer precision" in mouse settings... really annoying to use.

    Nice thank you man.

And just for the record I have talked to Razer CS and they confirmed it is a Drive image (and not only a Windows image) and it gives us the option to have the recovery partition or not copied to the drive.

Any idea if this is 2014 Blade specific? Need to restore my 2013 Blade but the recovery partition was deleted.

Edit: The link was disabled because of too much public traffic  Any chance of a torrent?

Did Razer provide any instructions to use the usb drive?

I would also like to know what year model it is because I used it to restore my Blade and for my surprise it installed Atheros software, older Nvidia driver with a couple of weird things that shouldn't be there

Hi All, can anyone confirm which model of Razer Blade 14 this is intended for? I have the 2014 model and wanted the restore in case anything goes wrong when I try to upgrade the SSD, thanks in advance.

It would be great if some one could reload the the image again. I'm having a significant amount of trouble with my personal windows USB drive on this particular laptop and I would like to use the usb image instead to see if it works

To whoever wants to use bitlocker or RDP - the Razer Blade FAQ states that Windows 8.1 Pro is required (true) and that you would need to install it cleanly (false) and lose your ability to do an F9 recover (also false).

If you have a Windows 8.1 Pro product key (retail or OEM, doesn't matter), you *CAN* upgrade your 8.1 vanilla to pro without having to do a "clean" install, which obviously will nuke the recovery partition.

What you need to do is do this from the Control Panel. Most people try doing this from the "About my computer" screen, which will absolutely fail unless you use an 8.1 OEM key.

However, if you have a RETAIL 8.1 key as I do, you have to simply do it from the control panel (search for "add features" from the charms search and you'll find it.)

I did it this way and both RDP and Bitlocker are working fine. Just understand that if you do use the recovery via f9, you'll have to re-upgrade to your Pro license key again in the same way (which to me is no big deal).

Surprisingly enough, I was able to open the download link on my iPhone version of Dropbox, save it to my account, and then open it on my computer and download the file. This is nice to know since you can't just open up the file on your laptop. Just make sure to download the Dropbox app, make an account, and then open this forum on safari for iPhone, or whatever mobile browser is on your phone. (Not sure if this works on android)

    Hope that helps!

For anybody who needs instructions on how to use this... You plug it in, and then not up the computer and hit F9 to go into recovery mode.

I couldn't really find instructions anywhere, so that's why I made this.

    Hope it helps someone.

    Hi guys,

Can anyone put up a link for the recovery usb of razer blade 2014? The recovery partition of my razer seems to have been wiped out.

    Thanks.

I've uploaded the 2015 (probably very close if not the same) files in my one drive, you can find the thread at page 3 or so, am on my phone so it's too much hassle to look for it to link the thread, but shouldn't be hard to find.

You can also just ask Razer to send one to you. They do that. Just tell them you need to do a factory reset and wiped your disk.

contains an image of the original 2014 Razer BLADE (14" QHD) USB Recovery stick (almost 16GB) and an app called USBit that u can use in order to restore the image file to any USB thumb drive with 16GB storage space or more.

Hi all, just had a question about Recovery Stick files. I downloaded the recovery stick zip folder from Makyura link that he posted for my 2015 Razer Blade 14", and I have no idea how to use it. I'm kinda a newbie to this process, can someone tell how do I use this please. Also after I downloaded it and I tried to open the zip file or extract it, it says compressed zip invalid. Hopefully any of u could help me with this.

No you'll have to unzip it onto a USB stick. You'll also maybe have to do a Google search and look up how to make it bootable.

    Hi,

I received an USB recovery stick from Razer (thank you Razer).
Unfortunately I have not been able to get it to work. Have tried different bios settings.
I noticed in standard bios settings the hard drive is not recognized. But when I set OS type to legacy and disable secure boot, it shows the hard drive in the bios.
There is no problem recognizing the recover stick.
I have tried different bios settings and I am able to get different messages when trying to boot from USB.
Sometimes I get a Razer logo for a short while. Then I get a recovery screen with an error.
In other bios settings I get a black screen with Windows failed to start error.
And I am able to get an endless blinking prompt when trying to boot from USB.

Anyone know what I might be doing wrong or could there be an error in the stick?

Hopefully I can get this to work somehow.

I connected the hard drive to another computer and deleted 2 partitions. That didn't help. Still getting a Windows boot manager error. Or do I have to wipe the hard drive in another way maybe?

Try format /mbr on it (running from memory).. You could also (be careful!) Use diskpart and be 100% forcefully sure it's completely wiped

    Hi all!
Can anybody help me with Recovery Stick Image? I asked it from Razer Support, but they said, that can't ship it to me and will try upload it somewhere. Last answer was about month ago, but i still didn't recive recovery.

My laptop is Razer Blade 2014 (i7 4702/GF870m/256GbSSD)
