    Hi everyone,

Sorry for making a new thread about a problem that everybody has already know. However, I've heard many rumors and videos about the Razer Blade Stealth making buzzing noise when operating. Well, mine has just arrived a few days ago and it's the Late 2016 model. When I download things from Steam I hear some weird buzzing noise coming out from the SSD. Is this sound supposed to be normal for every laptop SSD or do I need to contact Razer support? Here's a video of the sound. Thank you for your answers guys.

I could be wrong but that sounds like CPU/iGPU coil whine. It's been a pretty common thing on Skylake and Kaby isn't that different from Skylake so I imagine it may be the same thing.

Sounds like coil whine. Not sure how amped your phone is making it, but it sounds like a more extreme case where it might be worth your time to pursue another machine.

You also can go into the windows power settings and play with the advanced processor settings to prevent the multiplier from adjusting as much, and as well as in the Intel XTU UTILITY which has some stuff in there and disabling turbo.

Just pointing this out since I don't know what your intended use case is, nor how tolerable it sounds in real life.

EDIT: go into a game. If the sound improves, the adjustments I suggested should be able to make Windows desktop better.

Wow I've just searched about this problem and it seems everybody have it. Some people said they got the laptop replaced and it's still there lol. So do you guys think I should contact Razer and send my Blade to them or should I just ignore it

Don't bother - Razer customer support is horrible. You'll spend 1-3 months without your laptop and the problem won't be solved. I can almost guarantee it.

It shouldn't damage your hardware and it's really common on last two gen CPUs; if it's too annoying I suggest getting a replacement to maybe get a more silent unit, else, if it's acceptable, just live with it.
