Hey so I just ordered my Razer Blade Pro and I know it comes with Windows 8 instead of Windows 7. Anyone happen to have a guide on how to downgrade the Blade Pro successfully to Windows 7 while keeping everything working? or is there not a way? should I stick with Windows 8?

Just buy a copy of Windows 7 and install it like on any other machine, then install all the Razer drivers. Should work fine, but I haven't tried it myself.

8.1 has many under the hood improvements. Set it up to boot straight to the desktop and don't look back.

Yes, I agree with this. If you want to go even further, install StartIsBack and you'll never even know you're on Windows 8.

Of course, he asked about Windows 7, so I thought I'd help him out with that :D

StartIsBack is a replacement Start menu, it makes Windows 8 perform just like 7. I don't like Microsoft's new interface on a non-touchscreen so that's why I use it.

I installed windows7 on my 2013 Razer blade Pro, after erasing the whole drive, including razer's back up. Everything works fine, but:
1, some of Fn+F1~12 key is not working, including adjusting the screen lightness. Adjusting volume, keyboard/IU trackpad lightness works fine.
2, Raser synapse's control over the LCD trackpad screen and the 10 key, is not working properly: sometimes the user defined picture shown on the trackpad screen will not show when the laptop is awake from sleep, while it seems to work when laptop awaken from hibernating or turn-off. Everytime when open the raser synapse, and click for IU trackpad setting, it will appear: some IU program is running, need to turn all off before setting. By clicking "OK", this will also bring the "black" trackpad screen to "the picture assigned to the trackpad screen" back.

I personally hate windows 8 on non-touchable screen laptop. That is purely a waste. Meanwhile, many windows8 features is very stupid, like I can never clean up the pictures stored in the picture folder: there will always be caches of pics. Toggling the input method is also very tricky in win8...
I am not regret changing to win7 till now, but i hope razer will solve the problems i mentioned above.

Hey I am actually trying to install windows7 on my razer blade but I've come across strange problems. On an empty drive the w7 install hangs on the start screen. I was wondering if I could ask you what you did to install it? Even after wiping everything, disabling secure boot etc etc/// and enabling both UEFI and LEGACY boot I'm still coming across problems when I attempt to downgrade. I was wondering if there was anything special you did or if I missed anything when I was installing w7.

Why not try Windows 8 first before deciding to downgrade to 7? And by try I don't mean play around with it for 5 minutes then give up (which is where most of the negative impressions seem to come from), but sit down and really test it out for a good 20-30 minutes. Most people's main gripe with Windows 8 is the lack of a Start Menu (the Start Screen essentially replaces it), so if that's ever an issue for you there are ways of getting a Start Menu in Windows 8.
