    Hi everyone,

Just looking for some guidance on a couple of problems I'm having with my Blade.

    • Unstable FPS - Unless I run games at the native resolution of 3840x2160 (for example 1920x1080) I get what seems to be brief but random FPS drops in games like Hitman(2016), PUBG, Dead Rising 4, R6 Siege. I'm happy running games at 4K but sometimes it's nice to drop the resolution and turn up some other settings. I tried changing my desktop resolution, adjusting the scaling on both desktop and the games but nothing seems to fix it. Also tried getting in touch with support but unless it's an issue that can be fixed via Windows reinstall or RMA they haven't offered much support. The one recommendation they did make was changing the power settings from "Balanced" to "High Performance" but all that did is increase how frequently the machine shuts down aka problem below.
    • Random shutting down - So I have seen some threads about underclocking CPU & GPU which I'm going to look into doing after posting this but sometimes during gaming the machine shuts itself off. I honestly thought it was overheating but then I've realised it might be in relation to this power draw issue I'm seeing so many others have maybe?

In advanced thank you to anyone who can offer support/advise on this :)

You surely read my thread I posted? Underclocking and applying those settings mentioned will cure the FPS drops you are seeing in 1080P (as It increases power draw due to more FPS). Please use what I posted and report back. Asking for help on this resolved issue is pointless without trying what I suggested as it’s a known problem :\.

Apologies I'd looked around but clearly not hard enough. I'll report back, thank you ^_^

Edit: CPU and GPU settings applied. Hard crash with no BSOD on Hitman (2016) running at 1920x1080, v-sync on, all settings set to high (Geforce experience recommended all on Ultra).

Would you by chance have a watt meter and can tell me what your machine is pulling at the wall when it crashes?

Sure, I have HWInfo as well if it's worth having that running? I'll report back with what results I get :)

Well that will give you a bunch of information like temp. readouts and estimated power draw but the watt meter will tell you (if you keep eyeballing it) what it pulls right before it crashes. Should be something (if it’s power related) around 250+.

Ah it looks like age has gotten the better of the meter. I'll have to try and pick up a new one on the weekend -_- I'll be surprised if it's still pulling that with the modifications made though. I'll get back to you once I've replaced the meter

Edit: After my last random shutdown I loaded up HWInfo and for the SSD under Drive Temp 2, the readings were in red at 85-89

Its possible that the drives are causing the shutdown but I'd still be interested in the power draw.

Thanks for your help, after my 4th RMA over 9 months and never having a fully working machine Razer decided to replace it with the newer model :)

No longer suffering shutdown issues :D I've just put a response in your tweaks thread actually. I still seem to be getting FPS problems on the new machine, I have your tweaks applied.

Would it be better to continue replying in here or in your tweaks thread?

ugh... I had all the same problems with my Razer. It really is a beautiful machine but it feels like to me the science just isn't right yet to have so much power in such a small package. Sorry to hear that you're having the same issues!
