I hope everyone is well in this quarantine.
Stay safe and keep on laptop-ing (*haha*)
I am wondering if anyone can help me with a dilemma.

The below is the layout of my Elgato Thunderbolt 3 Dock.
I will not get into the magical installation process where I had various BSODs and ended up crippled with no mouse until I downloaded the latest Thunderbolt Control Centre. That is a story for another day.

Maybe someone can help me understand something.
I have a USB-C to USB converter. As you can see this dock has USB-C ports at the rear linked to various internal controllers (TB3 and USB). When I plug my splitter in the black marked ports both my Razer Huntsman TE and Razer Naga Trinity freeze. They do not work properly. I tried to make them work 1 hour. If I plug the splitter into the red marked port I have no issues.

Would anyone with a Razer, a dock, and some splitters have any clue why?

Translating between USB versions can get funky. I imagine a splitter only makes that worse. Try a hub instead?
