Hi I just received my new Blade 2015 and have been experiencing problems with the wireless card connecting to my wireless N router over 2.4Ghz.
My connection drops frequently which is extremely frustrating! I've searched everywhere on the internet and have found that it's pretty common with this intel ac 7260 network card but can't find a fix that works.
I've heard that this card only works properly over wireless AC in newer routers

Has anyone else experienced this and if so I would appreciate any help!

i'm not experiencing this issue (knock on wood), and i only have an apple wireless N, so can't be just the AC router only thing.

I have an AC router so can't really say much, other than I haven't had any wireless issues with my RB..

    Thanks for the quick responses.
I'll try the latest firmware when I get home.

Apart from this issue I'm loving the blade so much, best notebook I've ever had by far!

Dd-wrt still uses the same closed source driver for the wireless metal it's probably not going to improve much for the effort unless you really need the customization options exposed in those firmware.

I'm running whatever is the latest on Intel's site. I check once in a while for a new version. I only have an N router (Asus RT-N66U), but it gets great throughput.

When I download and run the latest driver( Wireless_17.14.0_De164.exe) my device manager still says that it's 17.13.11.5.
    This is driving me crazy!

If it's working great I wouldn't worry too much. I haven't noticed any difference between the last few versions

The problem is that it's not working.
I'm still getting random wireless drop outs. Starting to think that I need a new router even though I haven't had problems with other devices/old laptop.

hmm there's a fair chance it is the router. It seems to be a lot more stable now for some unknown reason plus I just picked up a USB3 to Ethernet adapter so that helps in most cases.

One thing I would do is go into your router and change the channel. Might work better on a different channel.

If you're in an area where there is a lot of congestion it might help picking a different channel. There's also apps that can help you visualize how congested your area is and find a good channel that has the least amount of potential interference.

So I had my blade for a few hours today, had a faulty keyboard so I sent it back. But before I did I checked my connection speed with my dir-655 router, and it was fine. There are two hardware revisions of the dir-655, which one do you have, A or B?

Not sure which revision I have I'll check when I get home. The speed of mine is fine the problem I have is with the dropouts, although they seem to have died down now for some reason.

What was wrong with your keyboard?

the P key had a broken hinge and was slipping out of place. My name starts with P(paul) so i noticed immediately. I had no dropouts with the router either, forgot to mention. Could be an interference problem, other wireless devices, or other routers in your area like the guy before said. or a firmware issue, especially with the older hardware revision A.
