The charging port on my Razer Blade seems to be broken. It doesnt charge when I plug in the cord. I dont think the issue lies anywhere else because everything else about the laptop works fine, but it just doesnt charge. I made sure the cable is properly attached and all but no dice.

Does anyone know if I can buy a replacement somewhere. I prefer not to go to razer cs because of all the things I have heard and because inflated prices.

For clarification, I attached an image below.

Not saying you're wrong, as I've no idea how to troubleshoot such a problem, but are you sure your charger isn't at fault, rather than the charging port on the machine? Do you have equipment to test the charger, or know anyone who does?

Check with multimeter or simply try a different adapter (~19V and ~150W). However, AC/DC jack failure is rather common, so it shouldn't be too surprising.

Can't make it out exactly, but looks like you have a separate, wired jack instead of soldered. That is very fortunate; a lot easier to replace. Quick search yields nothing specific for the Razer, but should be something like this HP jack. Mind that 80% of all laptop/brands are made by the same five manufacturers and individual components are used in all sorts of brand/models. Simply remove old one and check visually or look for markings, then compare with the available offers.

I had the same issue, you're not going to like the solution. Also, my laptop was not under warranty...

The solution is not as grim as funeralbot makes it out to be. t456 is right; the charging jack is not soldered, so it can be unplugged and replaced rather easily. The big problem is that the charging port for a Razer Blade laptop is unique to it. I did find some equivalents around eBay, but the Razer Blade jack has a brace attached that you screw in to hold it in its place. Without it, the jack would be wiggling around inside. I've taken a pic of it, for reference.

I couldn't find anything at first, but after about two months of following keywords on eBay, two eventually popped on my radar. They seem to go for around 20 dollars, which is better than what I was expecting. That was the hard part; once it got here, it was as easy as unscrewing the original, popping it out, and slotting the new one into place. Much easier than it was replacing the battery last month. I feel I could've avoided this if I hadn't bought a third party charger for the thing in the first place. I definitely learned my lesson, and I plan to take better care of my laptop from here on out!

By the way, sorry for the necrobump! This was the first result I got when looking for help on the subject a few months back, and although it gave me a good lead, I feel these are details worth mentioning for those with the same issue.

That bracket is actually just a seperate part attached with some gluy tape. Nothing to worry about, it should stay with the blade body.
    EDIT for necro post.
The kable with the plug itself, is one of the easiest things to fix when you can solder. No need to buy a new one.

But chances are that it's not the kable!

@capylikesgames how is your replacement battery?
Many people claimed to have problems with their replacements.
    Where did you buy it?
    Thanks!

It's fantastic, holds a better charge than the one it came with. Then again, it looks to be from a later Razer Blade model (I have a 2013 Razer Blade), so that may have something to do with it. I bought it off eBay, though from nobody in particular; as long as you make sure to buy it from a trusted seller who focuses on PC parts, you should be fine.
