Happened this morning. I pressed the power button and the laptop wouldn't power on. After that I wasn't able to get any reaction from it. The charging indicator on the front of the laptop is off with charger both plugged in and unplugged. No reaction to the power button. 100% bricked. The charger itself is fine (the led is on when plugged), the battery was at ~90% yesterday evening and the laptop stayed on power for the whole night. Anyone had similar experience with their Blades?

That's unlikely. The battery was close to fully charged the night before. The laptop sat on the table without being moved or unplugged for close to a month , nothing could potentially cause the cable to come off.

Ok, in the end it turned out to be that same problem. I took it to the MS Store I bought it from, and a technician plugged the wire back in. Apparently the battery power doesn't work when the charging port is not properly connected.

Unfortunately, when I brought it back home, I discovered I now have this issue:

Same exact USB port, the one next to the headphone jack, appears completely dead. :/

Do you know how he plugged it back ? I didn't want to fully disassemble mine, so I put a little piece of plastic behind the cable so that when I put the power plug it still stays plugged. But it's a "hand made" reparation and I think it is not perfect...

The problem being I don't feel condident enough to disassemble the power plug connection area...

I've no idea. The guy said he was going to check "one last thing" before sending the laptop for repairs. Then he went away with the laptop and returned in 15 minutes and the thing powered back on as usual. He said "one of the wires of the power connector was loose" and he "plugged it back in".

Then at home I discovered the first USB port on the left was not working anymore.

Thanks for your answer. Did it fully stop working or only when certain things plugged ? I've noticed mine (but it's a 2013 Blade) sometimes won't work for certain hard drives, but works for my mouse or USB flash drive...

Otherwize I think there was a thread about non working USB port on the 2014 Blade so I guess you should check that. Otherwize, if it's still guaranteed, send it back to the technician...

Nothing plugged in registers in any way. That includes: a CM Quickfire keyboard, a Razer Mamba mouse -- in wired mode, wireless Mamba is a notorious piece of cr@p (KB and mouse should be as low power consumption as it gets, but not sure if those two are higher consumption than normal or not), a HDD and a Nexus 5 (doesn't connect or start charging).
