    Razer Blade 2014 Owners - Does Your 870m Make This Noise?

    I noticed pretty shortly after buying the laptop that it makes a very interesting "Cricket-like" noise only when the dedicated GPU is in use. Once the fans spin up its very difficult to capture this noise via video due to wind noise, but my ears can pick it out of all the noise and I want to make sure this is an intended noise.

    If I alt-tab from a video game (wildstar in the youtube video below), the noise immediately stops, then I bring the game back up and the noise immediately begins again. This is why I am attributing it to GPU. The noise never fires up when a game isn't running.

    Sorry about the sub-par quality video..it was taken on a cell phone and I just wanted to get the camera in close so that anyone viewing could hear the noise. I alt-tabbed a few times to demonstrate it stopping but didn't hold the camera too well so you may be unable to notice the immediate "cricket" noise cutoff.

    Does everyone elses' 2014 blade make this noise? I really would like to put my mind at ease and avoid trading this in for a replacement.

    I hear no noises other than the fans when I am gaming. I think you should contact support.
