I know most of you probably bought these machines to play more demanding games than a 2010 RPG, but I still thought there might be interest in seeing the way this type of game can be rendered on this class of machine.

I had FRAPS loaded during this brief, suicidal frenzy of murder and mayhem, so you can see the almost completely unwavering 60 in the upper left-hand corner.

Ultra settings at 3200x1800 (native resolution), except that I dialed the anti-aliasing settings to 0 - it just seems completely unnecessary at this resolution.

My first upload to YouTube ever - be gentle.

BTW, to answer a few questions before they're asked:

I was completely unaware of any fan noise during this play, and have also not heard them running during longer sessions with Skyrim, although I know they were on.

No-touch bar above the keyboard gets very hot to the touch. Palm-rest is warn but not overly so.

I had CPUID Hardware Monitor going during an earlier, and much longer, episode of playing Skyrim, and the maximum temperature for the CPU cores was 85C, with the overall CPU package reaching 87C. GPU reached a maximum of 79C during the same gameplay.

I was running Skyrim at 1920x1080, Ultra settings except with anti-aliasing turned to 0.

BTW, this machine is a 512gb model, ordered last Friday from Microsoft. I thought I had time to cancel my 512gb order from Razer, which they had told me would ship on 5/16, but it showed up unannounced this morning at 11am. Not sure whether to open it and run tests on it to see if it in any way outperforms the first one, or just RMA it immediately. Still deciding...
