    Hi all,
I have what may be an issue but I can't quite figure out if its normal or not. Basically I noticed the other day that after my blade had been fully charged and then turned off, once plugging the power back in a couple of days later and powering on, the battery had dropped around 5-10%. Now this is with the blade off, not in sleep/hibernate. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal?

I raised a razer support case where the support engineer recommended that I uninstall the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery device and then reboot, recharge etc to reset the battery sensor, however after trying this and then fully charging the blade and then turning it off/unplugging I left it for 1.5 more days, and when turning back on (with the power plugged in) the battery had dropped 2%, so that's 2% lost with it just off.

I may be being a bit pedantic here, it just seems strange to me that so much battery power is being lost when the laptop is off...I understand the clock etc needs power all the time but surely not that much? Has anyone else with a Blade 2014 noticed this?

I too have noticed this but this isn't something to be worried about. All laptops will lose some battery life even when they are off.

I have this exact issue. However after about 1 full day of charging and 1 full day of not being used after shut down, the battery will be completely drained....

Hmm that sounds really bad, sounds like your battery is damaged...have you spoke to razer support?

I've had this problem as well. Sometimes it's worse than other times. I've taken to using Hibernate on the Windows start menu instead of relying on power button hibernate and that seems to mitigate the problem.

I've also had a problem whereby the 2014 Blade will not charge unless it boots up first. If I just plug it into a power supply, nothing happens. If I boot it and then turn it off while it's plugged in, it charges.

Haven't spoken to support about either issue yet.

Have been emailing them back and forth. They advised that I may need to do a RMA... sigh.....

In an interesting turn of events, I recently found that when I shutdown my blade with an external USB harddrive still plugged in, the harddrive makes a sound indicating power is still getting to it. I raised a support case with Razer, and they have asked me to RMA my blade.

My USB peripherals are also powered when the razerblade is off. This may just be a feature, not a defect. I definitely would not recommend sending your blade in for this issue. Most likely it'll be returned to you "working as intended" with some scuffs and a service fee.

This is a feature! For USB charging when the computer is off for example. It can be turned off on the BIOS, look for something like that on the BIOS menu if you can't find it let me know and I will look it up on mine. Cheers

Just to update.... I dropped of my Laptop to see what the problem was and the HK rep helped me replace the battery. They said it was possibly a battery issue. Took about 1 week. Lucky i had a spare laptop to use. Anyways, will give it a go these few days and see if it has improved.

Yep I know of that setting (I mentioned that it is off in my original post), my issue is that with it off the USB ports are still releasing power to attached devices. I was told to RMA as with the BIOS setting off it should not be still powered.

I am overseas at the moment, so when I return home I'll RMA it and see how it goes.

I am having charging issues with my blade as mentioned in another thread. But I believe the drop in battery percentage while the laptop is off might be due to Windows 8.1 fast boot feature. Try switching it off and see.
