    Hi,

I just switched out the Killer 1202-N card in my 2013 Blade 14" to an Intel 7260 AC, after reading that this can be successfully done in another thread, here.

However I am having a problem - the Wi-Fi part of the card not recognizing any networks, but the Bluetooth is working fine. I've successfully installed the latest Intel drivers, and the card appears as working properly in Device Manager, as well as showing up as an "Enabled" wireless network connection in the Network and Sharing center (I should mention that I'm on Windows 7 x64).

I think the problem might be that the Wi-Fi "soft" switch was set to off after I installed the new card. Is there a way to reenable it with a Function key combination? Or is there anything else that might be wrong?

[edit] Further Googling suggests it could be something to do with Pin 20 for wifi off?

    Thanks!

    Su

    Update below:
    • Wi-Fi works fine under Linux: Tried the Ubuntu live CD - both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth recognized straight away; was able to connect to my router at full AC speed (866Mbps).
    • Multiple Windows drivers don't work: Tried uninstalling and reinstalling several sets of Intel drivers in Windows (all the way from version 15.xx to 19.xx - same error in every set of drivers, see below)
At this point I'm at a loss... it's not a hardware issue, and nothing obvious on the software side... any more ideas please?

    Cheers,

    Su

Aha, solved! Not entirely sure which, but one of the following worked:
    • Under network adapter properties (where it lists, IPv4, IPv6, File and Print sharing for windows etc.), there was an entry for Qualcomm Atheros network protocol or something - I uninstalled this
    • I uninstalled Cisco AnyConnect VPN, which had created a bunch of virtual network adapters
What a waste of half a day :D if anyone runs into similar problems, drop me a note!

    Cheers,

    Su

i recently having my wifi continue disconnected in p570wm laptop which uses the same wifi adapter. it was working just fine but now constantly dropping off 5G network while all other laptop seems fine.

in the end i tried multiple things didn't work except disabling the extra network option "network connections" which kinda solves the problem, at least for a few days now.. also i have had hamachi installed and it created extra network which i disabled.

i think your issue is a bit more severe that you had to uninstall rather than just disabling them (including the services being disabled as well).
