Hoping for some help was using the official razer updater yesterday to update bios to 1.06 as was having few issues with the laptop not sleeping when lid was shut

Half way through the update got a BSOD and then the laptop rebooted all I now get is a black screen lights on keyboard but nothing else

I've contacted razer support but it's taking an age and it's out of warranty by about 4 months is there anything I can do?

I removed the back and took the CMOS battery out left for 10 minutes but still the same really wish I didn't update now I've seen reports that sending to razer will result in a new motherboard costing nearly £1000 all for this small issue

    The laptop is RZ09-03305W53
    RTX 2080 Super
    4k touch screen

Thanks in advance for any advice

You only have 2 options. Pay razer or get yourself a CH341A chip programmer and a full bios dump of your model. I'm sure someone here would be willing to provide a full bios dump for you if you're willing to get the programmer and put in the work.

Hi thankyou I've just had a search around and ordered this from ebay

Where would the best place be to request the ROM dump ? Guessing it has to be the identical model?

Is there a guide on how to do this as think I need to try as paying to replace the entire motherboard is crazy

    Thanks

The full BIOS image can be found in the 1.06 bios update exe. Just unpack the update exe with universal extractor 2, look for a 16MB bin file (I think for this model it was named charlotte_106.bin) and you can flash that with the hardware flasher. Same exact thing happened to me when I bought this machine a year ago, I couldn’t believe razer released to production such a buggy bios updater that really turns machines to bricks!

Thankyou I will check this out

And I also can't believe it's so easy to kill such an expensive machine all gaming motherboards nowadays come with backup bios, surprised this is not something this laptop has considering the price.

And don’t forget you will need another PC to access the bios chip.
