Hello so I have been having an issue with trying to get the audio to work through HDMI to my TV. The display works properly but the audio only comes out through my laptop speakers.

Also the resolution seems off on my tv even with bring up the resolution to 1080p.

I'm pretty sure it's a laptop configuration issue as my ROKU has no problems with the TV via HDMI.

    Thanks!

I'm afraid I can't help out much since I sold my 2013, but I will say it can work if setup correctly. I watched movies off my 2013 to my TV and it worked fine at 1080p (1:1 pixel, no over or underscan) and the audio came through.

The resolution can be trickier to fix, you may have to fiddle with settings in your NVidia or intel drivers. The audio you will have to change manually from right clicking the speaker icon, then clicking playback devices, then right clicking on your HDMI/TV connection and clicking set to default. You will have to do this everytime, it's normal, even my desktop I have to do this same thing when wanting audio over the HDMI.

Okay my driver was not installed properly so I reinstalled the driver and now I see the hdmi output in the sound option.

However it says it is not plugged in, not sure why that would be. Anyone experience this problem?

Have you tried a different/newer cable? It's possible that for some reason the cable is old enough or was inexpensively enough manufactured that it does not support audio out. It's a rare thing, but it DOES happen. Could also be a defective cable.

Some displays do not give audio as a feature via the EDID data, so then the Blade thinks it's a monitor only(No audio output detected). With some goggling you should be able to find a workaround or the monitors EDID data.
