    Hi guys...

I just got my new Razer Blade 14 yesterday...
But I'm facing some issues, so I would like to share and ask you guys about it.

    1) How do you know that the laptop is charging when it's turned off?
I haven't seen any lights turning on when I plug the power connector. This is very odd... The laptops usually have one LED indicating that the battery in being charged, and usually the color of this LED changes to indicate that the battery is fully charged.

    2) Are you guys suffering from touch-pad glitches? It is so annoying because it happens A LOT.
When I use the tap-to-click feature, some times the cursor jumps to another position. Is this some kind of driver bug or is this a problem of the touch-pad itself? This is really annoying because I use the touch-pad almost all the time.

    Hi there.

When plugged, or sleeping (on with the lid closed), the computer should always show a led near the right corner of the palmrest. It gets either green or white (blinking), and you should see it. As well, you should see the led when it's turned off and charging.

The touchpad issue you experience is an enough common annoyance across various device. I think it's the nature of this technology (and its drivers). I have always seen this happening on different brands, too, for example Apple and Alienware alike. You can try going to the Synaptic touchpad properties, and reducing its sensitivity under Pointing > Sensitivity > Touch sensitivity. Turn the slider toward the center, chose a heavier touch. By default is set to light touch. Do not uninstall the synaptic drivers becasue the one installed is already the most recent version. And you'd have to uninstall Synapse and reinstall it before restoring the synaptic software. In sum, a pain in the butt.

Hi rafix73, thank you very much for the reply.

My Razer Blade 14 when turned off and with the charger plugged in, doesn't turn on any LED. Is my laptop defective???
I contacted the Razer support and they told me that it doesn't have any "Charging Indicator". This is one thing that I got really upset about. It's very bad not knowing when it is charging/charged when turned off.

In my opinion, the most inconvenient issue is the touchpad. The cursor literally jumps around when I try to Tap-to-Click feature. When I try to Tap-to-Click, sometimes it just jump to another position and it doesn't click, forcing me to perform the action again. I've tried every configuration with synaptic (Including sensitivity) and I got a little improvement, but the problem still persists. I contacted Razer Support and they told me to re-install the drivers and apply a registry modification ( https://copy.com/8ZwAAWjqHpxq), but still it didn't completely fixed it. Right now they want me to return the Razer Blade 14 for repair or replacement. The problem is that I tried another Razer Blade 14 from a Best Buy shelf and it showed the exact same glitchy behavior. So I'm afraid to return it and it comes back with the same issue.
I also tried using Ubuntu and the problem also occur.

I am so frustrated about this...

No, your laptop is not defective. I noticed that mine does the same, if the charger is plugged in and computer is is turned off. And it's odd, as I have never seen this before. I had never noticed that before because I usually never really turn mine off. When battery is low and don't need to use the blade, I plug the charger and close the lid without turning it off. In this case you see the led pulsing white (charging), and once it's charged stays solid white. This behavior is odd, but it doesn't necessarily mean that there's something wrong with your unit.

In regards of you touchpad, I didn't realize that the problem occurs only when you try to tap-click. I thought you had it even trying to use the buttons, in which case doesn't happen, right? You could try with the drivers. Refer to this thread before proceeding. This is the link where you can download Synapse: here and this is the latest synaptic driver: here. Read through that thread first, then try uninstalling and resintalling the touchpad drivers, and see if it improves anything.

The problem only happens when I try to tap-to-click, the physical buttons work fine. I made this video to show you what happens ( Razer Blade 14 erratic cursor behavior - YouTube). I already tried the procedures you mentioned but any of those helped.

The problem is that when the cursor "jumps" it doens't click, so I have to go back and do the action again.

Does it also happen with yours???

    Very annoying...
