I just had my 2nd Blade replace due to an issue with a clicking noise and while waiting for my replacement I started doing some Benchmarking, specifically 3DMark 11.... I noticed my CPU temps hit 94c/96c (on all cores) and y GPU 81c, clearly 3DMark11 really pushes the system...

However, I also noticed that the fans are now always maxed and now the laptop when from being totally whisper silent to actually making a loud fan noise, even for a 14" laptop standard...

When reading my CPU Temps, even when typing this and just browsing, the CPU temps are between 85-90...

Any idea what could have happened here? even know I'm shipping this laptop back and keeping the replacement, I'm worried that this may be an issue with all the Blade 14. I'm hesitant to run any benchmarking test to my new one.... anyone seen this?

I can't answer your question but my thoughts would be that we shouldn't have to worry about running intense software that pushes the limits. If we do the next game released may have the same effect as you are already experiencing. I would run the benchmarks till you have a system that doesn't drop the ball from them.

That is very unfortunate. I cant give you much info due to I have not ran any benchmarks, but I can say that HWINFO shows my CPU idling at 40c at all times. I just got it today though. Also my fans are practically silent.

Yup apparently, 3DMark11 was leaving an instance running, even when I closed it out, have never seen this before... I uninstalled it and the issue was resolved. I kept having the issue until I re-imaged it (f9), there must have been something forcing that behavior.
