Ouch. CNET says the same about the battery - 4.5hrs of regular websurfing. The screen's that power hungry?

Honestly, I think they're just quoting the other review. They didn't offer any other real metrics. Probably come later.

I doubt it defaults to using the dGPU for browser. Maybe Flash is using it, but unlikely also, it usually defaults to iGPU.

4.5 h is what i guess with full light and light internet browzing

On the 2013 Blade, IE is set to integrated under the nVidia control panel and cannot be changed. Sounds like it isn't "stuck" on the 2014 Blade.

Has anyone taken this thing apart yet to check for SSD slots? I'm still deciding whether to go for the 512GB or save and get the 128 and expand later.

Highly unlikely there is one on the underside but I'm not about to take out the whole thing.

IGN Review is up. A solid review and I agree with him about a few points. The screen resolution is overkill and the touchscreen is a waste in my opinion (I hate fingerprints on my laptop screen). I would've been happy with a 1080p screen for less money, but overall, I'm very happy with this laptop. The fingerprint issue seems a little overblown.

8.2 seems fair, but I wouldn't call it "impractical."
I most disagree with the assessment of battery life. He claims 4-5 hours for general computing--you can easily get 6 in "power saving" mode--and less than an hour for gaming--I'm getting about 1.5 hours. He calls this "on the lower side of the spectrum" for gaming laptops. What sort of gaming laptops are on the upper side of this spectrum? I've had Alienware and Falcon Northwest laptops that run for maybe 30 minutes on battery. -

the high res and touchscreen is why I bought it. I do photography, software development and games. I honestly hate having a dozen devices when the blade does all the stuff I need (almost). I've been using windows 8 since dev beta and the touchscreen is super necessary, increases productivity quite a bit IMHO. I actually get quite annoyed using a win 7 machine cause it just takes too long to do anything.

I haven't had much time to do anything yet, but I just downloaded dark Souls (first one) and it's smooth as butter at 3200x1800 with dsfix set at the same.

The Verge posted a review. http://www.theverge.com/2014/5/20/...14-review-laptop-gaming-never-looked-so-good
I didn't see them post anything about the cooling system noise, but they liked it overall. -

Where are the *actual* reviews? It's been weeks already.

Here's another review (c-net) if anyone's interested - don't think anyone linked it yet: Razer Blade 14 (2014) review - CNET

Hehehe - well, it does seem hard to find any seriously in-depth reviews, so I'll take what I can get.

Still no reviews? Thanks for the user reviews, but it would be good to see an in-depth review from one of the majors.
