I did Amazon personally. After tax on the 128gb model, you're only $60 shy of the 256gb model on Amazon(depending on your state of course). Amazon also has a good return policy. Not saying razer doesn't but I've never used it. I still don't understand why razer charges sales tax when they aren't even my state.

Edit: Nm - got too curious and called Razer to find out why. Apparently they have a small office in FL, therefore must charge me tax. I'm guessing most of you won't have that issue.

Why not pre-order straight from Razer?

Also, anyone know how long the standard warranty is on this? Please tell me for $2200 it's not a 1 year....

Squaretrade is a little cheaper. $499 for 3 years. You can probably use a coupon code to make it less too. Might be worth it for the 3 years of accidental damage.

If you are a student and go to one of the universities listed on thier discount page OR you can get your university to sign up for their program then you can save 10% (~$200+ depending on which SSD you are getting).

OR if you want the laptop faster. I think if you order from Amazon you may not get it until mid may? (from what I've heard, not sure can anyone confirm) but we aren't too sure on Razer's either. They are saying the 16th so they may or may not ship on the 16th depending on when you ordered).

otherwise I would say amazon is the better choice.

"HDMI compatible" is pretty meaningless. There are a slew of different HDMI variants with different capabilities. We do know what the specifications for the Oculus DK2 are-- 75hz @ 1920x1080 / HDMI 1.4b. It's not really reasonable to expect Razer to know specs for other companies' products, so I don't blame that representative for the ambiguous response.

I'd suggest asking them if they can confirm if the HDMI port supports 1080p 120hz output / 1080p 3D with shutter glasses, since those are relatively mainstream features they'd probably be more familiar with which overlap (and exceed) the Oculus requirement.

My shipping date has been moved again!
This order will be shipped after the release date of 4/23/2014 for The New Razer Blade - 512GB.(According to the order information page)
Mine was supposed to be shipped tomorrow. Can't say that I am not disappointed.

Do you think Razer will give anything for the delay that has been caused? I mean changing the release date 3 times is a bit ridiculous and a lot of people are eagerly waiting for their Laptops.

There's another thread for this topic; you should probably use that thread.

Probably not because they never officially said an exact date. Move it to the other thread guys.

Yeah I'm really hoping for some reviews to start popping up soon. I've heard good things about everything so far but I just want to hear that the heat is not overbearing. I know that the laptop is going to be hot and I've heard the fan is pretty audible and that is to be expected but I'm hoping it is not terrible.

The worst thing for me is it only has 1 ssd slot. Bcuz i thought I can upgrade by myself by adding a 256/512 gb one. Now I have to thinking about losing warrenty and 128gb space.

Im considering a Alienware m18x with 860m SLi and 16Gb ram which has the same price with Razer Blade 14. And I can upgrade cpu and gpu when I want to.

I see a lot of people comparing performance between 13.3", 14", 15.6", and 17.3". The thing is, these are apples to oranges to pears to etc.... The bigger and heavier you are willing to go, the cheaper it will be and you'll get more for your buck as hardly any engineering has to go into those to make them work. A 14" ultra thin laptop gaming is extremely different and a completely different market than a 17" 10 lb gaming laptop.

Well considering 3rd party custom builders are offering raid 0 on it I would assume that it likely has too slots. The truth is thats its too early to state one way or the other right now. We just don't know. All we can do is assume that it will considering the similarities it shares with last years model.

Indeed. But those custom builders also seem to be implying that you can throw in 2 PCIe M.2 drives: HIDevolution New Razer Blade 14 QHD+ GTX 870M As much as I would love that, there seems to be no indication from Razer that the M.2 drive is PCIe (site says its SATA). So I am doubting the validity of the HIDEvo customization options. Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong. In fact, I'd view the machine as more or less perfect for my needs.

The plextor m6e use a pcie adaptor. So hide revo is removing the ssd from pcie bracket and put it in the razer. Then i assume they give u the bracket if one day u need to use on a desktop. Buying this pcie m.2 was my original plan. Funny this builder had same idea..

Even though I've cancelled my order, I received an email apologizing for a delay in ship date and offering a coupon for a free mouse.

My ship date was originally 4/16. This may indicate that those with a 4/16 ship date can expect a delay.

If it's truly an M.2 slot, it will support both SATA and PCI-E. That's the whole point of the M.2 NGFF form factor. It's supposed to replace mSata completely while allow for faster(and more expensive) drives to be used. Razer's website says M.2, so you can safely assume it will be PCI-E compatible. Each slot should have a SATA 3.0 port and 4 PCI-E lanes

Bad deal for the 512GB version, for sure. That's why the 128GB model is so appealing to me - I'd immediately swap it out for a faster 512GB drive and it would be the same price. Unfortunately Amazon only has the 256GB model.
