The p34g v2 has 14inch, full hd and 860m. So i advise you this model. Clevo will update its 13inch with it too and 3k screen. Msi has a ghost with 15 inch but same spec and weight.
So what is left to razer? They are still tiny compare to their competition.
Gigabyte is selling to usa too now.

About 4k.Well you don't see it but i have the hardware running. If u have a benchmark with 4k d3 max up act3 with 30 ennemies please share. I saw comments on 4k and how it is supposed to run base on solely opinion. Yes you still need AA, you need all eye candies. Because it s even better. Hardware is not ready yet. But you won t switch back to anything else.

6970 was good enough for my dell 2560x1600 too for d3. It s most of the time at 60fps but sometime it will dip at 45/50 on r9 290x.
No single gpu can tame 4k . So even only 15% is welcome. I really like how made something unique. They remind me of the good old alienware brand.
In games like civ5, xcom, you will really enjoy your 4k screen and glad to add a little bit more thanks to the 870m :).

The p34g is thicker, has a smaller battery and uses the KEPLER gtx860m not the MAXWELL gtx860m, which is a HUGE difference in TDP and heat output, further its also ugly and build quality is less good.

I dont want 15% extra performance if it get a 1.) uncomfortable hot case in return under load , 2) a noiser system 3) less battery
Quite some (important) drawbacks for a minimal in performance increase. And why SHOULD someone run at that native 1800p resolution,
its not that it wont run at 900p or 1080p..

The GTX860M consist out a kepler 1152 core based model or maxwell 640cores model BUT they should deliver the same performance , thats why they share the same name.
Since the 870M only has 1344 cores (only a few more) the performance will be pretty close to the 860M

How about the Lenovo Y50 that's suppose to come out early May?

UHD touch screen, 860M, starting price $1000. Sounds like a hell of a deal! I am going to hold off my preorder for razor until both machines are out. It seems news for Y50 is limited at this point.

One thing I am hoping is that Lenovo won't cheap out on their wireless card...

5mm thicker, 2,6kg and 15 inch. Portability is realy important to me
That starting price is not with the 860 and UHD resolution

Hmmm... I'll rethink the value of it then. Hopefully someone will buy it for 1200-1500. I know best buy sells the base model for $1800 new. What's the best way on restoring the razer laptop to new conditions for the new owners and wipe everything from the drive? Can't wait for the new blade to come in.

Are you sure it uses the KEPLER 860M ?
From what I know it uses MAXWELL 860M, but I will agree on build quality being a little worse.
Overall the RAZER is s much better laptop by far but people looking for a more budget friendly choice can look at the P34 V2.

On the off chance you will need a disk drive you could always buy an external dvd rom drive for around $50.

If it's for work, well, this is a gaming laptop, you could do better with other choices. The only reason I am getting a gaming laptop is that I go on business trip a lot, and I buy it to play games on the go. If I were you, I'd just stick with a desktop and get a budget laptop for work for that "1%" :D

I'm really confused why none of these new gaming ultrabooks (MSI, Razer, etc.) are using the new Maxwell architecture. Same (even a little better) performance, less draw, less heat. I mean it sounds like the perfect GPU for these devices. It's exclusion honestly has me questioning whether or not to purchase any of these machines...

Maxwell is more efficient, but it doesn't have the raw capability required for gaming laptops, yet. As beefier parts become available they will take over the space occupied by Kepler parts.

Not enough functional units to push the bits around at a significant fraction of 3200x1800 (like 2560x1440). The Pro can get away with an 860M, but the 14" needs more stuff - higher speed, wider memory bus, more cores.

While it's possible a Maxwell 870M will arrive at some point in the future and start to make its way into the 14" between now and the 2015 model, I wouldn't hold my breath. It doesn't seem like Razer revs models mid-year.

I'm personally fine with it. I figure 1920x1080 will be fine for gaming on the 14".

That's why a high quality 1080p IPS panel would've been perfect but no, Razer wants to be big and bad and put a 1800p panel on it lol

Is there a 14" 1080p IGZO panel? I believe Razer went with the 3200x1800 panel because there wasn't another option with the response time they were looking for. I believe at least one preview played at 1080p and did not report any issues.

When the pixels are too small to see one has the option to run at non-native resolutions that aren't even divisions of the native resolution.

The 2013 Razer 14 was released in the beginning of July.. Anything is possible but I assume since we are seeing this new model in April essentially this might be it for this year. They would have to redesign the circuit board as I believe Maxwell has a different pin out and also the physical layout is different so the thermal solution would need to be redesigned. Having both of these components going back through design and manufacturing is a cost

"A Razer engineer explained that the company identified a "no touch zone" along the top edge of the laptop's base (right above the F1 - F12 keys, where users' fingers typically don't wonder) that helps disperse heat generated by the supped-up specs.
While this region definitely heated up, the heat seeped as low as the J and K keys on my right and D and F keys to the left. It wasn't burning, but was uncomfortable enough for me to question how long I'd want to let my fingers linger on those letters.
The whir of the fans was also noticeable, something we didn't identify as a problem in our 2013 review. To be fair, the laptop we checked out had been running for at least 30 minutes, performing various game demos and being subjected to my hands on, so it may have reached a boiling point of sorts. TechRadar will have to perform more long-term testing to see how the new Blade holds up during regular use."

I saw that, I would like to see some more reviews, but it doesn't bode well. Notebookcheck does a good job of doing comparative db measurements of idle vs gaming (3dmark06 I think) vs furmark+prime95

8GB should be plenty for gaming purposes. I have 16GB and have yet to approach using 8GB during gaming.

If there was an option to go 16 I'd say why not if you have the money, but for strictly gaming 8 should serve well for some time to come.

If you're also planning on doing memory intensive media editing or content creation or using VM's I would potentially look elsewhere.

I run windows and Linux VM's all the time with no issue on my late 2011 MBP 13 with 8GB without issue but I have to keep an eye on what I configure it to use. But that's not games..

Do any retail stores carry Razer laptops? Or is it only available online? I see a lot of Razer computer accessories in my local retail stores like Fry's and Best Buy, but I don't think I've ever seen a Razer laptop in any of them. I usually like to play around with a laptop first before actually buying it, especially one that will cost me $2400.

Both Amazon and Best Buy are currently selling the older model at full price. Given that supply of the new model will likely be very limited at first, I'd be very surprised if they get the newer model in the near future. Remember, Razer doesn't even have enough stock for the international RazerStores.
Still, from what I've heard, the new model is outwardly nearly identical to the old one besides the screen.

Yeah, I see the 2013 Razer Blade can be purchased from the Best Buy website, but when I check for availability in the store, none of the Best Buys in my area have them in stock. Seems like Best Buy only sales the Razer laptops through their website.

Yes, they do not make room for them in the brick and mortar store anymore. Makes sense really. It's over twice the price of the next most expensive (in NYC anyway) in the store. I'm sure not many saw the value.

Oh man, this review gives me concern regarding the heat and noise. I mean if it's at a boiling point after only 30 min of game play, I wonder how long can it last. If I am playing $2500, I expect it to last at least 2 years. I don't want the laptop to melt down after a 2 hrs gaming session. (My gaming session usually ranges from 30min-90min).

Well, I guess that's the price you pay for being slim. Hopefully the Lenovo Y50 can surprise us. Fingers crossed.

I'm waiting for the final review as well as additional reviews for the final say on heat. Its so subjective to the choice of resolution, game settings and so forth to find the sweet spot..ie maximize performance but at some reasonable level of heat output.

The 2013 was the sweet spot.It could get very warm, but never like burning hot.
Since its not thicker (1mm due to the touchpanel) with a beefier gpu i expect the worst..

Hi all good info hare about new razer waiting for more !!! Btw I am really interested in some other stuff like :

Because high end maxwell gpu's will come soon this year will razer upgrade it to maxwell 870m? Will they upgrade this year or we have to wait for 2015 model?

And when the hell razer will star to ship to Europe ???!? CEO talked that it first want to cover North America and then go to other country's what you think will it be true in this year ?

P.s. Any idea how to ship it to Europe cheaper then paying +400$ for customs ?

P.s.s. Does somebody know dimensions of the box that would be packed and sent from razer to customer? I mean not the blades box but the box that blade's box is if it makes sense :s and the weight of it :p

Thank you and sorry for my bad English :)
