I'm looking at purchising a model with the 128 gb hd.
My question is wherther I am able to install my own secondary hd at the cost of losing my warranty.

Thanks + rep for reply :)

No-one has an answer for this?
Was hoping to pick one up - but paying for the full 512gb SSD makes the price pretty astronomical (for a gpu that wont last that long).

Hi!, I cannot answer your question, but If the model is physically the same as the 2013 one, then it might be possible to put another or replace it, you will have to search on the forums the posts from last year, there was someone who opened it and
saw the interiors. He also uploaded the pictures of it.

Anyway, I would advice you to wait for the Razer Blade 17" Refresh 2015 if you can, It will come with the powerful Maxwell GPUs which is already something good. The 2014 Model is already not powerful enough for the generation of games that are using lots of global illumination technology.

Well, the Razer AU store is currently having a $500 off sale.

And, seeing as the 860m is already Maxwell, any upgrade to 960m (or even 965m) shouldn't be TOO massive.

Having said that, if they upgrade to the 970m, I would literally sell my Blade the next day and buy it instead :)

In that case I do not see any problem :)

I had the same question about warranty implications and asked Razer's customer support (they have a very helpful rep here on the forum). He told me that they can only provide warranty service to the unit's original configuration, meaning in effect that you could add a second drive, but you would have to remove it before returning the unit for warranty service. It also means Razer won't provide warranty service for any damage you cause to the unit while mucking about inside it. Also, apparently they don't care about the little stickers on the screws - just the innards.
