I am currently interested in the new Razer Blade 14" and I would like to know how durable and reliable were the previous generations of the Blade. I played games (SC2 and DotA2 mainly) about 3-4 hours a day on my MSI GT780, but the laptop recently died giving me a lifespan of 2.5 years regardless of my efforts to keep the laptop in good condition (Such as playing on a desk and elevating the laptop chassis at an angle to allow airflow). This result was disappointing and made me question the reliability of MSI products.

Recently I was looking at the Razer Blade reviews on Youtube and found Syndicate's video describing that his Blade (R2 or the first generation) died after a year.

It gave me a second thought on purchasing the New Blade as the internals are maybe not constructed as well as other manufacturers at the premium price.

It would be wonderful if I can get some true reviews from the previous owners and their experiences with the laptop. Thank you!

---BUMP--- I also would like to buy a Razer Blade 14 (2014). Could anyone give insight into how well the previous generation's blades worked in terms of longevity and build quality?

The last generation is at most 1 and 1/2 years old. I never had a single problem with mine for the 8 months that I owned it until I sold it to buy the new model. Build quality was excellent, and so is the new model's.
