Hey guys, its been a while since I've posted on here, and I have a question. Does anyone have their hands on the new razer blade yet, and if so, does it overheat a lot? I owned the blade with the 870m, and that thing would overheat like a Mofo. So much that it throttled and fried the mobo. I just would like to know before purchasing one. Thanks!

Wow. My 2014 gets hot when gaming obviously, but nothing that severe.

Supposedly according to Razer the new one's cooling system is completely redesigned and the fan blades and spacing have also been changed to lessen noise.

Only reviews will tell when we start seeing them. No one has one yet, so no one is going to be able to tell you anything aside from Razer's marketing.

Whoa now-they didn't say completely redesigned, did they? They didn't say they changed anything except the fan profiles, to reduce noise.

I'm going to expect it's still a hot laptop. Aluminium case, that thin, 6700hq will still hit 90C+ under load. Guarantee it.

    Watch this:

Dude from Razer basically said the cooling system is completely redesigned (within the first minute of the video). I will of course await reviews and first hand thoughts.

Seconded. I can't lay my hands on the footage atm, but I remember watching Mr. Min Liang Tan in an interview say the EXACT same thing.

In all fairness though, they could fix a LOT of the EXISTING issues if they'd just allow us to set a more aggressive fan profile to begin with...

I actually just want the system to be quieter. The cooling itself on my 2014 is just fine.
