Be careful, you're wading into dangerous waters with that statement. 8GB VRAM minimum for current titles. You'll need 16-24GB next year, I imagine.

He said that game (Shadow of Mordor)does not stutter with 3GB of VRAM and it doesn't becuase I'm playing it on my 2014 RB and its running fine, no stutters, nothing but silky smooth frame rates.
Would we all want more VRAM ? Of course it's enough for most games now. Saying that It would have been nice if it came with the 6GB 970M .

I believe aaronjb was being sarcastic considering the smiley at the end and noting requirement for 16-24GB next year. :p

Hey - does anyone know when this will be available in Microsoft Stores / the Microsoft Store Website? A lot of the initial announcements from a few weeks ago said it was available then, with others saying February 16, and still nothing as far as I can see.

I've heard also it will be available on February 16, if I can get a good price for my 2014 model the 2015 1080p version will be very sweet.
Hopefully the MS store will carry the 1080p model, I got it from them in the past very quickly and saved some money using a student discount.

Just called my local MS store, and since it is a "speciality store," they will not be carrying it, whatever that means. If anyone notices it online on the Microsoft Store, would you mind posting a heads up? I will do the same

We have been duped! Although you'd think if Razer themselves made the claim it would be true. "select" stores meaning 1 or 2 across North America perhaps? Problem is that you can't call your local Microsoft store as all numbers, although local, route to their call center, and they know nothing!

I just ordered one from Microsoft. Called the Century City location, not in stock but available or order. They offered 10% off as well as free expedited shipping. I will have it on Wednesday! Time to kiss my XPS 13 goodbye.

Confirmed - this time i got through to my local MS store and they said it was out of stock in Canada (or not stocked yet) but was available in the US store. Waiting continues, but promising that it will come.

Yeah, I just had a conversation with a Microsoft Canada sales rep. He mentioned that the retail stores should be getting them around mid March. But he also said that starting tomorrow? (not 100% sure, but soon) we'll be able to put in an order online or through them and have it shipped directly. Also the additional coverage is about $150 to $200 I believe.

I'm really interested in seeing what Microsoft Canada will be selling these at - if anyone can confirm that for Canada that would be sweet too. Otherwise I'll give em a call within a week to find out.

So I was able to purchase the 256GB ver yesterday at the Perimeter Mall Store (ATL). Was the last one in stock. So far so good, but I haven't been able to really put it through it's paces yet. Really hoping this works out for my needs, as it really is my last hope for a gaming laptop for this gen. If not I may be waiting for Skylake and sticking with my Macbook for now.

I purchased one last night, the reps called me back, at first I didnt believe it was a 2015 until they sent a picture of the box. With taxes and 2 year accidental coverage (well worth it for $150) my total was $2890 Canadian. This for me is ~$400 cheaper than ordering through Razerzone and I get the much better extended warranty for cheaper. Also have 30 day return policy. First night so far i'm impressed. Only had 1 hr to tinker with it.

Anyone use classicshell on their windows 8, i've heard good things but never installed!

EDIT : they only had the 256gb QHD model so far - but that was the one I wanted anyways.

jeez.. razer customer service is clueless.. i simply asked if the 1080p version will be available in local MS stores.. and the sales agent kept telling me they're available in best buy, when they clearly aren't. i kept saying the new model.. 1080p version.. it's like i was talking alien. not a good sign so far, if this is how it is pre-sale.. i can't imagine how it would be post sale.

Wait, so did you receive the Blade in store as well? Or did you just order through a sales rep in the store and have it shipped? (either to your house or in store pickup I presume)

Also, the price is not bad I guess... I'll just have to settle for the 256gb for now then.

I picked it up in store - i already used it last night but not for too long. I love the screen an form factor. It does get warm but like most reviews it is mainly near the power button by the screen, not where I rest my hands.

Any free Steam games that would be a good test on the graphics - most intense game I own is BF4 - i guess that would be enough.

Not sure about free. I own half the steam library :p I ended up buying the 3D Mark app because people wanted me to run Ultra and Extreme for scores. I don't know anyone that has ran tests on the RB in Ultra/Extreme yet. If you don't end up buying 3D Mark ($25 I think) I'll compare with my scores from my Aorus.

Lots of places where benchmarks will pop up, i'm more interested in playing a game thats graphically pleasing, one that works well with the resolution and doesn't require downscaling. Any suggestions on that front without spending $70 just for that?

Not sure... I buy more games than I play. I really liked ACU but I can't see it running well on 3GB VRAM without turning down textures to low =/

I don't know about downscaling, but in terms of testing the performance, I planned to try to run Dying Light when I get it. And not because it's cutting edge beautiful (although by all means it IS a beautiful game), but because it's so poorly optimized that it would be just interesting to compare to my desktop.

Again, I can't speak for downscaling, but Metro Last Light is always a good benchmark game as is Crysis 3.

Can the Razer Blade 2015 play WoW at Ultra Settings at a consistent 60 FPS (Assume it would have to be at 900p)
How about Battlefield 4 at 900p?

At 1920x1080 yes. At 3200x1800 no. You have to drop to high quality and disable SSAO and shadows to get ~60fps

Any idea how games look scaled down to 900p? I assume it looks much better than at 1080p on the 3k screen

I can speak to that. Razer made a boo boo and sent me the 16GB QHD+ model even though I ordered the 1080p model. I'm very sensitive to down-scaling "fuzziness". Having used a rMBP I found its down-scaling to be horrible. The image became quite blurry at non-native res. The Razer screen, however, handles it beautifully. Shockingly well in fact. I'm typing this right now with my res at 1080p and there's no blurriness to be found. None at all

Wow that is great to hear. So you did not even need to go down to 900p to avoid blur, it sounds like you were able to hold at 1080p (which is really great).

I can second this. I'm using 1600x900 for everything, looks great. With games I can't really tell the difference much, especially when I get into playing the game and stop caring about looking hard for issues.

The desktop is another story, I can definitely tell the difference between 900p and 1800p, but it's not horrible by any stretch. Just a notch below... If it wasn't for Unity I'd be running the desktop at 1800p again.

I have no source to confirm, but I'm going to say there are no promo codes available for the Razer Blade as Razer aren't known discount new models of their laptops. If you want to get a discount on the Blade find a student who can use the student discount at the Microsoft store to get 10% off the Blade.
