Love to hear your thoughts. I will of course be using an HDMI connector given the Razer Blade's limited ports. I love bright crisp screens to work with.

ASUS makes nice ones. I'm using a 23" IPS monitor of theirs.

Panda, which model ASUS? I was thinking of possibly getting the 24 LED HD with the 1ms response time.

For work? Dell Ultrasharp 24" or any other IPS 1920x1200 monitor. 1080p is fine for games and movies, but garbage for work.

thats why I go for the 1440p, you can put several docs side by side and its roomy enough in the vertical space

Does anyone have an opinion on pairing the blade 14 with a 1600x900 native monitor as opposed to a true HD monitor? Does the answer change significantly between work / games?

I'd want my monitor most for dual screen productivity; would be great to double as a gaming monitor but I could also just hook the blade up to my actual TV.

    Thanks!

I have read that a lot of monitors that support HDMI 1.4 spec have trouble pushing 1440p/1600p at 60Hz and not just the manufacturer but everyone else recommends to use DisplayPort or Dual-link DVI for these QHD formats.

Any opinions on driving 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 through the HDMI, and secondly, what monitor to pair it up with? I've heard bad things with Dell 27" & 30" QHD resolutions?

This should not be a problem at all. In fact you should see better performance in games (as compared to the performance at 1920 x 1080) at the lower 1600 x 900 resolution which, IIRC, is the native resolution of the internal screen of the Blade 14.

I started a thread on this as well. I really want to know if I can pair this up with a nice 27" IPS display for daily usage. I know I can't game at that resolution with the GTX 765 but my rMBP has no issues powering a 1440p screen.
