Ok so I never had this issue before and I was hoping I could get some advice. I pulled my SyncMaster T260HD out to plug into the HDMI on the Razer. The colors on the monitor appear washed out to me. I cannot seem to set the monitor to make things crisp and bright. I am curious as to whether anyone is having a similar issue plugging their laptop into a monitor. Should the image be identical on the monitor to what I see on the Razer Blade itself? It could very well be the monitor, as I purchased it a number of years ago and don't have another one handy to test display with.

    Would appreciate your insights.

I have my Blade hooked up to a brand new 27'' IPS monitor and it looks amazing.... no issues what so ever.

I have also hooked it up to my Samsung 55 inch tv with no problems.

Ok so it is the monitor then. I assume your whites are crisp etc? What monitor did you buy? I cannot imagine this is an issue with the laptop or the HDMI cable because I am not getting any interference etc. Come to think of it, the screen looked no better on my old MBA from a brightness perspective so I bet it is the monitor.

Are you sure it's running at native res (the Syncmaster)? No other reason for it to not appear as a sharp image

Not so much sharpness as washed out colors.

Might be a color profile you downloaded and applied to your Blade? Other than that, I can't think of anything else save faulty HW on the blade or the Syncmaster

Probably try factory reset the monitor, or tinker with option like brightness/contrast.

Hard to imagine it being an HW issue. I would think a major graphics problem would show in other ways and the Blade is flawless otherwise. I think the Syncmaster is just dying. It didn't look much better with my Mac Book Air.

i once had a similar problem with a Samsung LED 40" TV series5 when i connected it to my desktop computer. I found out that the PC input profile of the TV was horrible. I searched google and the solution was to create a custom PC input profile. That solved the problem.

thanks but when I change the profile it doesn't impact anything. I switch HDMI to PC for example or Game and it stays the same. I'm going to see if I can just grab another monitor to gauge the situation.
