As a college student I'm thinking about getting a Blade - not only because of the awesome design, but mainly because it's super light weight and yet powerful.
Thinking about it I was unsure whether to get the old or the new Blade ($400 difference). Figured it was a good time to ask for a long term field report, just before we get qualified reviews for the new Blade.
I know the old lacks of a good screen, but I want to know if there are other (common) issues and/or how your laptop has been holding up the past 10 months? :) Heard of some weird ticking noises from the fan and the power supply...

I'll import the Blade (don't even care about the all wrong keyboard layout), so it'll be somewhat of an issue to get warranty for it, so what's the overall build quality? I love Razer peripherals, but I'm sceptical about computer systems, since that's something completely different.

If you have the new Blade, feel free what its improvements or impairments are over the old Blade (other than the better screen).

    1) Well the screen hasnt got more acceptable of time - probably less so
    2) My Razer was shipped with a pretty low specced msata hard drive in terms of speed
    3) My battery has proved terrible. 9 months old, barely lasts over an hour, recharges to 75%. Batterycare shows 40% wear but it performs like it has a lot more. Of course battery isnt an easy replacement.

Having said that I am pretty happy. Never had a problem with overheating. No problems with scratches wear and tear. Boots up pretty much juat as fast as out of the box.

Yeah the battery seems to be really bad, judging from your post and the Amazon Reviews
Anyone else experiencing it that bad?
