Hey guys, I know some of you already received the Razer Blade 14 (2014). There are no reviews out and I'm still waiting on my 512gb that seems like it will never release.

My question to those who already got their laptop is - if it's even worth waiting for?

If you guys could pick another laptop after seeing it first hand, would you?

    Thanks!

It's worth it compared to the 2013 Razer 14 with that horrible crappy screen. The 2014 Razer with the IGZO 1800p panel paired with the Kepler GTX 870m is miles better than the 2013 Razer, but I would've preferred it to have a 1080p IPS panel w/ the Maxwell gtx 860m instead.

You know you're referring to Blade Pro with the desired specs, right? Unless you meant 14" form factor.... Who wouldn't love a better screen and a better graphics card?

On topic: I feel your pain, OP. I am having this feeling that 512 GB will be available sometime around Christmas, lol.

I feel EXACTLY the same way about the 17" blade pro.

No he's not, the 2014 Blade pro Keeps the dated but competent TN panel from last year. My *ONLY* beef with the entire notebook is that it wasn't updated to an IPS edge to edge glass screen. Doesn't even need touch in it, just edge to edge glass. Other than that one little nitpick, the thing is nearly flawless.

I am really enjoying it. Ghost pro is the only thing that seems comparable, as others have said, but I really dislike the gaming tag. While the Razer logo is obnoxious, at least it is somewhat obscure and if you know what it is, you are probably a gamer or younger generation.

Everyone at work has no idea what my laptop is, or that it is a "gaming" laptop, and that's how I like it.

That's funny. I've actually considered spray painting the logo matte black. I'm not one for flair.

I agree with you zeelobby, but imho the ghost badge and branding is much worse.

Just do like they do on tv shows, piece of black matte tape over the logo.

If you trace it then use an xacto knife to cut some black tape you could probably hide it with some class.

I was thinking about painting it over carefully with some modeling paints in flat black myself. Maybe primer first to get more light blocking. Remains to be seen what I think of it in person.

Yeah. I'm not sure I want to place stickers on my $2K+ svelte gaming ultrabook. It'd be like sticking break for whales bumper stickers on a Lamborghini. A nice paint job would work though. I also don't see a time in my life as I get older where I'm going to be like, hell yeah, give me back that glowing green neon. I may be able to cover it with something a little less permanent though. Maybe one of those carbon fiber skins for phones that I could cut to fit the symbol exactly.

I'm with you. Those two laptops are my top two choices and the text on MSI's logo was a huge con for me. It's better than dragon eyes I guess. Still, I'll settle for green glowing snakes at work over that text on the ghost pro. Most people will probably not notice the snakes, and think it's just a triangle.

Haha 17" Asus and Blade 14 couldn't be any more different in the gaming notebook space.

The high CPU temps and reports from 1 member of seeing screen ghosting/blurring has me a little concerned.

I have posted a couple youtube videos in my review thread(they may be on page one or page 6). One from the blade and the other from my desktop. Please look at those, they are low quality (from cell phone) but it does show up on the video.

I feel like I’ve made too big of a deal of it. It’s just something I noticed right away. After all the talk about it I am still planning to keep my blade. Playing skyrim last night for a few hours was awesome, colors are vivid, screen is bright, and it played excellent.

*I forgot to add that in my opinion, it was worth the wait!

Hey if I spent that much money I'd expect it to be perfect also, glad to see you honestly voice your opinion on what you seen. Congrats on keeping your RAZER I'm sure your going to love it.
Is it still as noticeable to you?

It isn't quite as noticeable. I still see it if i stop and look, but I played several hours tonight and after a few mins I didn't even notice it anymore. Dark, greyish scenes are easier for it to pop out at me, really colorful, vivid scenes its not as bad.

There's always the Blade Pro ^^ Sure, it's not as tiny as the 14", but that's a FEATURE :D Gotta have smaller? the GS60 Ghost ain't bad either.
