Hi there I believe that the way to overcome this is to play games at the same resolution your display is set to in the OS. For example I am running 1600x900 on my RB 2013 on windows 8.1, I also should run my games at 1600x900 to avoid the memory error. Hope that helps.

No, I have yet to come across a fix.

I haven't found a fix yet either. I just ignore the error, and leave the error window open so that it doesn't keep popping up.

I pop in and out of games at different resolutions all the time so changing my desktop res every time isn't a very good option, and then having to resize all my windows every time too.

its apparently a windows error when running at high resolutions (or not), MS has to fix it

Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of Microsoft software engineers as this problem is with almost every game on Windows 8. There are a couple fixes I have seen while Google searching the issue, non of which I would recommend personally as it deals with registry tweaking to physically disable the pop up window.

Here is my solution (work-around, that is), although I suspect not many will want to do it this way.

I'm now running both my most frequently-used games (Skyrim and Fallout: New Vegas) in a window on the desktop, which seems to completely eliminate the out of memory error from occurring.

I don't mind running games in a window, as long as the window covers the whole screen except for the Windows taskbar. I believe many games will allow this (I'm sure some do not), although sometimes it takes a little digging to figure out how to do it, if there aren't adequate built-in options for running the game in a window or for setting the exact size and/or position of the game window. For my games, for example, I have to manually edit the games' INI files since the window sizes I need to use are not available through the games' built-in setup options.

If you could stomach running in a (almost full-screen) window and can figure out how to accomplish it with your particular game, this may work for you, too.

There's some tools out there that allow you to run "full screen windowed". I used it to fix one game in past.

Turn your pagefile back on, set it to at least 4096 Min/Max.
