I was wondering since this laptop is packed with all the powerful components such as the 870M into a slim component. Im guessing there will be heating issues?

Yes, the question will be in what areas of the casing of the notebook

Someone posted on reddit that they were able to play with the notebook at PAX. It was running Path of Exile, I'm guessing for good long time as demo units usually are, and he reported that it wasn't burning hot.

The MSI G60 Ghost Pro with the same exact GPU gets high 80C-low 90C during gaming, it is bigger and has dual fans like the RAZER so I'm guessing we will see the same unless RAZER did some incredible R/D and really worked on thermals.
I hope they invested a lot of time with the cooling without it being too loud or lowering the clocks on the GPU. I want this to be my next laptop but still waiting fo good user reviews to see how they did handle the heat.
I wouldn't say it has a heating issue unless we KNOW for sure it has a heating issue, but I don't expect any miracles either.

ROFL. I love that there is a thread concerning heating issues before we even know if there is a heating issue...

Yes it will have heating issues. In fact it is going to get frying pan on a fire hot. The reason is that since Razer is for gamers by gamers they understand we don't want to have to get up to eat during a long gaming session. So now we can cook all types of food on the aluminum chassis while gaming. How cool is that!!

The 2013 model got hot, but it was within limits for gaming (not prime + furmark, but not much is, certainly not a thin and light). But it also did this without excessive fan noise. I can only hope for the same in the 2014 for the rework of the thermal solution.
