Have had the Blade 2014 for less than a month, can I avoid a SECOND RMA?

    Hi all,

I bought the Razer Blade 2014 at the end of June. I really love it, except I've already had to send it in once for repairs due to some issue with the battery not being connected properly to the motherboard, causing charging issues. The motherboard and battery were replaced. I've had it back for a grand total of four days, and now I've noticed an odd clicking noise coming occasionally (not always) from the back of the laptop, around the fan area, when it is tilted upwards at a certain angle.

Now, my questions to you all is - I'm sure I could send it BACK in AGAIN to be repaired, but I really just can't be without my laptop AGAIN within the space of five days from getting it back. That really upsets me, considering how much I paid for this thing...so is the problem something any of you recognize? Can I get away with just letting it be, or will it cause some horrible catastrophe down the line? It's just disappointing to me to have had these issues within the first month of ownership, and I can't imagine sending it back in for repairs and it hasn't even been a month since I opened up the box.

Any thoughts? It's a new issue, something I never spotted before sending it in. I wonder what happened, or if I'm just supremely unlucky. lol

Edit: just received a shockingly fast response back from Razer Support - the rep assured me that a sound heard in a quiet room was normal, and some users can hear a high frequency hum, electric noises, and fan noise. Not sure if this clicking sound applies, but I'm inclined to trust him. I would still really appreciate the input of you all, though

The centrifugal force of the fans will cause it to whine if the unit is moved while the fans spin. It is more prevalent in thin laptops vs. others. This is normal and does not affect performance.

Okay, thanks! Could moving it while the fans spin and hearing that noise harm the laptop?

No, it's mainly fan whine. This is normal.

If it's anything like mine the screws that held the fan in were loose from the factory. I tightened them up and it's been silent as a mouse ever since.

Wasn't there a confirmed issue with imperfect heatpipes?

I had an RMA accepted for this problem about a year back, but like you I just couldn't be without a machine for that amount of time, so I never bothered to send it back.

Hard to tell if it's a bigger problem down the line...
