    Hello all,

I decided to sell my Alienware 14 just because it's too thick to carry.
I really like the look of Blade 14 and Macbook. Since Macbook pro offers gt750m. It's a no go for me.

Does the Blade 14 keyboard get hot when gaming? As long as the left side of the keyboard is not hot I am good with it.
How's the battery life of Blade 14 just browsing webs and video? I know the difference between Li-ion and Li-Po. Just want to know your personal experience.
If anyone has moved to a 970m laptop, do you think 870m is a bad deal with the 19 higher TDP but roughly 15% worse performance?

Hi there, I bought my blade about two months ago. Had an issue with the screen and RMA'd it to Razer for a repair, but no problems ever since (just my background).

    1. The keyboard does not get hot, nor does the palm rest area. The bottom of the notebook and the upper part above the keys get extremely hot, however. I have never had an issue with sweaty hands while gaming - something I cannot say for my previous notebooks.

    2. For mild usage, I'd say I get about 4-5 hours doing nothing more intense than YouTube. This is with power saver mode and the screen dimmed. Upping the screen brightness to max or almost max will dramatically decrease the battery life.

    3. Can't say - don't own! My guess is that Razer will do a refresh in Spring 2015, so if you can wait until then you probably should. But it's really a losing race, because by then NVIDIA will be announcing the 1000x series. You can never keep up with technology.

For me, the design beauty of the Blade outweighed the benefits and cost difference from its closet competitor - the MSI Ghost 60. The Blade loses in storage capacity, RAM, and (recently) graphics but makes up for it in screen quality (IMO), design, and size. It all depends on what you want and what you are willing to sacrifice.

    Hope this helped!

I agree, keyboard stays relatively cool, gets a little warm but it's well within comfort zone.

It can get 5-6 hours of light work out of it. YouTube is a little more intense so losing an hour there makes sense.

I have the same reasons, I love the design and the keyboard. I actually play my games at 1600x900 on it and it looks great even scaled. I also have a 13" MacBook pro retina and going from that to the blade at 1600x900 isn't like a shocking reduction in quality.

I have a question, does the new Blade 14 support 1TB of internal storage? I heard that it only has one slot for memory and here in Australia all I can seem to source is 512GB or so. Is that all there is?

If there are m.2 SATA 1TB drives they will work. I think the largest are 512GB right now.

So basically it will max out at 512GB?

Yep. Isn't a problem for me, all my media is on an external nas. I really only have apps and games on it. I was down to 80GB free the other day but it just forced me to actually finish one of the too many games I had installed. :)
