Is this Razer specific or have I changed the wrong setting somewhere?

This is a windows thing. It's available on every computer. Windows will sometimes try to download vendor approved software and drivers for custom and specific hardwares.

I have never seen it greyed out like that though. Are you running windows 10 pro or home?

Lately I have noticed more and more installations of windows 10 becoming more aware of the machine they are on. sometimes refusing to install certain updates. It may be that razer has requested this option specifically from microsoft be configured this way because of some problem windows update has with updating software/drivers for razer hardware.

I have a razer blade 15, 2018 basic model. 8750h/1060 6gb and i am running windows 10 pro, 1809 and mine is not greyed out like that.

Additionally, i've had problems running 1903 on my Razerblade 15, so if that's what you're running, I'd be willing to bet that's the culprit here. I definitely had some sound issues on 1903. This could be microsoft and razer working cooperatively to avoid that until a fix is published.

I guess i'd be interested in knowing why you would want that setting enabled in the first place, if your drivers are all installed, and everything functions. What's there to fix?

What Model Razer are you using?

Yeah ... It is a little weird, but probably disabled for some reason on purpose. Only way i could think to change it would be to reload windows. If you have a spare m.2 ssd laying around, you could try that. Otherwise, it really isn't hurting anything and an update later on down the line will probably fix it.
